Not on stock, unrooted phones, I'm afraid. The only way to get rid of that is to set your phone to have No Lockscreen.

Should be in your Lockscreen settings. HOWEVER, bear in mind that some apps (like Android Pay or some corporate Exchange accounts) might disable this option if they have certain security requirements. If that's the case, you should see the option but grayed out with the notification saying that a device administrator (that's where you'd find 'the culprit') is disabling that option.

If it doesn't show, then your carrier might have chosen to get rid of that on their implementation. I can confirm it's there for the T-Mobile version though.

Just use the lockscreen, set it to lock automatically. You want to turn on the phone, pick it up and press the home button with the finger you have scanned. I use my thumb. Unlocked, no swipe, all in one step.

No, not to do what I said above, it doesn't have to be rooted.

I have my phone to secure lock immediately. I have a sideways thumbprint on my scanner. I pick up my locked phone, press and hold. The home button with my thumb and it is unlocked, no swipe.

It can be disabled under lockscreen settings, NONE. Also if you purchase a Samsung oem flip case it will bypass the lock screen if you enable the feature. Samsung has put security chips in the case so that only their case will work. I use their cases all the time and love them but they are a little pricey Sent from my note5
