That's $.96 on 2-year contract, or a $300 gift card when buying on installments, this Saturday, 11/14, at Sam's Club.
    Amazing!

If you are considering a Note 5, run, don't walk to your local Sam's this Saturday.

The Note 5 is the BEST phone on the market by a long shot, IMO.
At this price, it's a downright steal.

    Enjoy!

Don't forget that it will also qualify for the Gifts of the Season and Samsung pay promotions. The total retail value according to Samsung is $349, not really that much, besides the actual $50 for the Samsung Pay the other retail value is highly questionable, both hey, free is free. PLUS, if you come from an iPhone you may also qualify for $100 of Google Play Store credit.

Anyways, buying one of these phones this days can really save you some good money. Check the Promo here. Samsung Promotions

Check the ol' fine print on those things..... hidden 'line access' monthly charges. The on-contract option comes with a $45/m line access charge on top of your regular service charge. Financing it with NEXT 24 at $24.67/m lower that line access charge to either $15 or $25/month.

So if you are looking at total cost:

$.96 deal : you will pay $1080 in line access charges over the course of the two years
$300 card: you pay $1192 or $952 (depending on data plan) in total device and line access charges.

So between the two, I would take the Sam's gift card and finance it. You pay $5 more a month, but you get the $300 card.

For Verizon, it doesn't appear that they even offer contracts on new customers, so you can't do the 0.96 deal anyhow. Not sure about existing contract customers.

I purchased my N5 at a steep discount at Sam's about 2 weeks after it hit the market. I have 5 lines on-contract with VZW and like all VZW customers on-contract, we can always stay on-contract and take advantage of the $.96 offer.

While subsidized on-contract plans do not work out financially for some over time, they do work out amazingly well for others - like me.

So check the offer details and if it works out for you, get out and grab that N5 today!

Ugh, why do they only do these on the 32GB phones? I need at least 64 GB.

Ha, you don't need the 64GB version. Because you don't need the Note 5. You are happy with your iPhone remember?

Well how many actually got in on this deal. There was one left when I got mine today, and that was at 7:30 half hour after they opened.

I'm on Verizon and still have the grandfathered plans that I can do contracts yet. I did the contract price. Even if I shut that line off and pay the ETF, that's cheaper then full retail even after the gift card.

It's what works out for you, but for the ones that can still do contracts, the subsidized price of one dollar is hard to beat.

Existing customers can most definitely do service contracts on Verizon. If you are on the legacy nationwide plan then the monthly bill is the same regardless of whether or not you are on contract, so it makes sense for those people to do a contract.
