Took some videos last week that I'd like to pull off the phone, but I cant find them!

Looking in the place I've always found them in - phone - dcim - camera and no luck. Just pictures and gif's in that folder.

What am I doing wrong? Using a Windows 10 computer and windows explorer.

I have this issue sometimes on my N6. Try this...

Install a simple explorer on your phone. I like THIS ONE because it's very small.

If you can see the files you're trying to move/copy and you can't see them on your computer, create a temporary folder on your phone (call it AAAAA) and then move the files, using your phone, to that folder. Then you should be able to see them on your computer.

Don't ask me why, but usually this works.

Yeah, you can move them with the built in "my files" app, but there has to be a way to pull them off without doing that. No?

Go to the video in My Folders and check the properties of it. That should show you the location of the file.

I've done that too, the location is /storage/emulated/0/DCIM/camera

They're not showing up in the DCIM folder when viewing from a Windows machine. Can anybody else confirm this?

I haven't figured out a way. Since I got my first Android phone (Nexus S) years ago and I was running XP, it's done this. XP, Win 7 Pro, Win 8.0 and 8.1 and now Windows 10. They all do it. For what ever reason, sometimes files written to an original location can't bee seen by a Windows machine. You move the file(s) to any other folder and suddenly, Windows can see the file(s).
