    why does the message "unfortunately you calendar has stopped working"

    Welcome to Android Central! The Calendar app is crashing for some reason. It could be due to some glitchy data, or some other app that is interfering. Does this persist after a reboot?

    Also, is this an S5 or Note5? They're different phones.

    I had this happen and clearing cache, then data for the App did the trick. I did freak when my calendar was gone, but a resync brought it all back. It seemed to do it more when I had my third Gmail account linked.
