Note 5 text auto fill problem, how can I disconnect this feature?

Note 5 text auto fill problem

When composing a texting, email addresses are auto-filling into my text message. Very annoying and I cannot figure out how to disconnect this "feature" which appears to be an bug because why would emails be so frequently used in text anyway.

Is it automatically filling into the body of your message? Or is it just popping up as the main word prediction? Typical word prediction and/or auto fill are functions of the keyboard, and not necessarily a function of the text/SMS app you're using. Check the settings for the keyboard you're using under Settings -> Language And Input -> Select the Keyboard you're using.

If you use a word similar to an email beginning, type one letter at a time and then press the space bar. If you have a check mark at the top to verify what you've typed is correct, also press that. You may want to press the check before or instead of the space bar so the dictionary adds and knows this is your preferred word.
