From a desktop browser, go to
https://www.google.com/android/devicemanager which will locate your phone after you login. Once your device is located, select the "Lock" option, which will prompt you to enter a temporary password. Now use that temp password to unlock your device. Then immediately go into your lockscreen settings and reset your password/security settings. The only caveat is that your device has to be connected to the internet and Location turned on on the device.
