Phone locked with PIN after restart, Note 5 updated to Marshmellow.

So I recently updated my Note 5 to marshmellow, and when I saw the on restart password, I thought "Cool." So I set a password I needed to enter. A PASSWORD. not a pin. A few days later, after restarting my phone, BAM. "Enter pin instead of using fingerprints after restarting to protect fingerprints. Then it showed me a pin. I CANNOT UNLOCK IT. I have never set a pin on my note 5, and I tried what I usually tried. But no. It stays locked. I used Android Device Manager but it is still locked, with android device manager giving an error. HELP!

Welcome to Android Central! When you set up your fingerprint unlock, did you have to select a backup password or backup PIN? Is that different from the "on restart" password that you're referring to?
