How do I set up refresh settings on Google News and Weather for my Galaxy Note 5?

Pretty much what I said above. The widget for the Google News and Weather app doesn't update unless I go into the app to actually perform the refresh, making the widget itself rather useless. I'd like to be able to have it update every half-hour or so if that's possible.

Welcome to Android Central! First, make sure the phone's general Auto-Sync is on. Next, go to Settings>Data Usage and make sure Restrict Background Data isn't turned on. Also, if any power-saving modes are turned on, try turning them off.
