Bizzare sound issues after marshmallow

A

AC Question

Updated to marshmallow 2 days ago I never sent my phone does not make most notification sounds on a consist basis. I'm just using the standard text messaging that comes with the phone Samsung Note 5 is what I'm using. I either get a weird little barely audible blip noise or no noise at all. The phone rings most of the time when calls come in. But the noises for text messaging and WhatsApp are very irregular period the crazy thing is I went into the settings to see if changing the notification sound made a difference. And when I go to test a new noise a bubble pops up that says noise cannot be played when on a phone call. But I'm not on a call! And if I call myself the phone rings and a call goes through and when I hang up I still get the warning saying no sound when on a call. If I restart the phone this stops for one or two text messages that come in but then it starts up again. This is a nightmare. Can you help

Welcome to Android Central! First, see if this persists in Safe Mode: https://support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-23216 If the problem disappears in Safe Mode, then something you installed is causing the problem. You may have to uninstall apps one by one until the problem disappears. If the problem persists in Safe Mode, then it's more likely to be a hardware or firmware problem. You could try wiping the cache as suggested by srkmagnus: https://support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-23240
