I know there are issues with screen viewing portrait /landscape wearing polarized sun glasses.
But do polarized sun glasses help viewing note 5 portrait screen in direct sunlight?

I use polarized prescription sunglasses everyday with my Note 5 and Note 4 and have no issues that prevent seeing the screen in any orientation. The screen appears slightly darker due to the colored lenses of my glasses but the screen doesn't black out like an LCD screen.
The best help for viewing in direct sunlight that I have found is to turn up the screen brightness.

Polarised glasses only affect viewing in phones with LCD screen. The Note 5 has an AMOLED screen so the orientation won't make any difference. Don't worry.

Zero issues. Bright at any angle.
