    Hi everyone,

I've noticed a dramatic change upon updating to marshmallow on the Note 5. The battery will drain consistently even when the phone is not in use [actively being used]. I have not had this problem with the previous build and I'm wondering if anyone here has been able to address the issue and/or figured out a solution. I've seen other note 5 users are experiencing the same issue.

Read through this... I turned on Battery Optimization and picked a few Apps I thought shouldn't be dozed and mine is better than any phone or OS I have ever had now. Lovin' Marshmallow

I turned on Ultra power saving mode for a few hours and then turned it back off. After that, the phone no longer drains battery to 0 in 4 hours. Much improved.

I just got my Note 5 yesterday and it installed Marshmallow last night. This morning after unplug from the charger it went to 67% battery power in less than 2 hours. I did a cache partition wipe and now after 2 hours it is at 62% power. I hope this fix it once and for all for me.

I've had the Note 5 for about a year. Battery had been great even after the Marshmallow update. Recently the battery's draining down more. I had been chalking it up to using it more heavily but last night I didn't put it on the charger (which I normally do) and it went from 80% to about 40% just sitting on the counter. That doesn't seem right. I thought Doze was supposed to assist in stemming battery draining activity when the phone is "sleeping".

My replacement phone is less than a month new and it suffered from the same terrible battery drain as my last device. I did a fresh install last night. I go to sleep at 100% and wake-up to 68%. Something is definitely wrong with 6.0.1.

I have to keep a battery pack in my bag now just to get through a 9 hour work day.

The battery quick drain returned last night. 30% drain in 3 hours. I did a Wipe Cache Partition again and this morning 12% drain in 5 hours. So I recommend all to try a wipe cache partition. It is very quick and easy (just google how to do it). Take less than 30s to do.

I would test you phone for a few more days. I got my replacement device and instantly had terrible battery. I reinstalled everything and it was still there. A wipe cache partition is not needed on a new phone never used. I think Samsung...like the Note 7...dropped the ball on this software version.

I'm on my third charge today. I went to the note 7, loved it. Came back to the note 5 and installed the update, which now I wish I didn't do. I was planning on just staying with the note 5, but I have come to love what the note 7 gave me and with this horrible battery life, I am looking at the s7 edge now.
