After the latest Android Web View update, my battery life was horrible. 80% loss in 4 hours of non-use! I usually never factory reset after an OS update, so I gave it a try. My question is, during the setup process after resetting, the phone asks if I want to restore from a previous version or setup as a new device. What's the best route? Battery performance has been great since I reset, and features are present that weren't before.

That usually means if you want the phone to auto-download the apps you had on a previous back up, along with settings. Both would install from scratch, but the first will do it automatically (I'd recommend doing this over WiFi since it'll start downloading and installing a bunch of apps). The latter option might let you start with a 'cleaner slate' and debug the apps you actually use, but you'll have to tweak your settings to your liking again, manually.

I had the exact problem as far as battery drain. I lost about 45% in 3 hours and the phone became very hot. All I did was close all apps, and turned the phone off. Turned the phone back on and everything seem to be back to normal.

So it's been a few days since I performed the reset and while there battery life is great now, I've noticed the phone is lagging badly. As I'm typing this, the keyboard freezes for about 2 second. Apps are very slow to open from a notification. When downloading or updating apps, it will only download one at a time and get stuck at the installing step forever. Any suggestions?
