Why is my galaxy note 5 not receiving updates?

Hey there,

So for the past few days I've had a note 5 from att. This is running Android 5.1.1 and is running on the att network. So when I search for an update, this shows that the system is up to date....ANY HELP?

Welcome to Android Central! Moved from the Nougat forum to the Note5 forum.

Are you certain it's an AT&T Note5? Does it have preinstalled AT&T bloatware? What's the exact model number? One possibility is that it was originally from a different carrier, and a previous owner flashed an AT&T ROM onto it to make it compatible with the network.
