Now that the Note 8 is out, who's sticking with the Note 5?

I am so torn with the decision of whether to purchase the Note 8 or not. I was disappointed to say the least at the unveiling since there were no groundbreaking surprises or really anything dramatic that separates it from s8. The dual camera seems to be more gimmicky than functional, there was no increase in the S pens capabilities, and the screen is hardly any bigger. It didn't need to be any bigger in my opinion anyway. I'm leaning toward keeping the Note 5 and trying to be as patient as I can not to give in and purchased a note 8 and just wait for the 9. What are all you Note 5 users thinking now that the 8 has been unveiled?

I wasn't considering the upgrade until I saw the trade in deals for the N5. Best Buy has an offer for half off with trade of a N5 plus $150 bill credit on Verizon. That brings the Note 8 down to about $300. And it included a samsung fast wireless charger and micro SD.

Very tempting! My biggest concern is battery life. I can't imagine it will be very good.

I am till I see what goes on. I never jump on day one phones. I did on the iPhone 4 and I was a huge hunk of crap that I was stuck with a long time. I don't want an edge screen phone either.

Verizon's website has the half off deal for trade in. Best buy's website includes another $150 credit which brings the 2 year price for Note 8 to $12.75 on Verizon. I'm not sure how you go about it since it's a pre-order and you also need to trade in your phone. Only certain phones are eligible.

Isn't the half off just for former Note 7 owners?

I preordered the Note 8 on Saturday. I've had my Note 5 since launch day. Time for a new phone.
I see it as a huge upgrade from the Note 5.
Can't wait!
