Hi,

I have a Galaxy Note 5 with the latest Android but cannot get it to connect to a USN no matter what i do.

The PC's gave been Win 10. I want to backup pix as I am near full.

I have set the USB at MTP and have USN Debugging set.

I cannot get the USB tethering out of gray more but not sure if I need this anyway.

I have connected the cable and disconnected but no difference I do not see it in MS Explorer.

I can remember years ago it worked but not now.

I have tied many cables and now bought a new cable from Belkin which says Samsung Galaxy Note 3,4,5.

What else can i do please.

I have Googled and Youtubed too.

It shows a charging when connected.

Tried both back and front USBs on Dell 9020 Desktop

Tried Smart Switch on both PC and Galaxy.

When you connect via USB and swipe down the notification panel, do you see the USB icon there?

It's possible the phone's port is the problem. Try blowing out the port using a can of compressed air, and cleaning the contacts with a Q-tip dipped in rubbing alcohol.

Have you considered taking advantage of Google Photos backup? If you set it to High Quality, you get unlimited backups: https://support.google.com/photos/answer/6193313?co=GENIE.Platform=Android&hl=en

Ah haaa. Yes I will try that.

No I don't see the USB icon there.

I will also go look at your suggestion.

Thanks will report back the solution.
