Can a note 5 mother board be replaced with another model?

I've got a samsung galaxy note 5 A model and it got a fault in its motherboard. Can the mother board be replaced with another model. If yes then with which models can it be replaced with?

I bought the correct replacement board for my Note 5 from Aliexpress and it works perfectly. It came with Android 7.0 but took no less than 8 updates to bring it up to date. I thought it was loopingbthe same update untill I investigated and found the patch numbers were different.

Otherwise I fixed my busted note for less ghan 1/2 of what a repair shop would charged with zero guarantee it would ever work again.
