i have a note 5 and about a few weeks ago the battery was draining fast all of a sudden. So i turned it off to charge it, when it turned it back on it would be at 70 or 80 percent. I even factory reset my phone and it was still doing the same thing. I brought it to get a new battery and it won't stay on 100%. Did i mention that i have a new battery in the phone.

"New" batteries can still be pretty old for an old phone, since they've likely been sitting on a shelf for about the same time your phone's been around. But show us some battery stats to see if anything else might be causing the drain. Charge up to 100%, then let it drain to 20-30% with normal usage, without charging in between. Then show us:

    1. The main Settings>Battery screen.
    2. The fullscreen battery graph screen (which may show Awake time and Cell Signal Strength).
    3. The Screen category (to see total Screen On time).
    4. The Cell Standby category, if present (to see Time Without Signal).
You might have to install a 3rd party battery monitor, like GSam Battery Monitor, to get the Cell Signal Strength graph.

Hi i just downloaded the app you recommended. GSam Battery Monitor. It shows 39.8% of my battery is being consumed by Combined App CPU. I have no idea what that is.

And my phone battery is on 67% right now.

I mentioned in my previous post to use GSam Battery Monitor to look at the Cell Signal Strength graph over the duration of a full phone charge. Don't bother looking at the other stats at this time. The fact that your phone battery is 67% right now is neither here nor there -- follow the steps I described and show us the results.

Those screenshots are helpful, but to reduce confusion, it would be best to charge up to 100%, then use it normally until the battery reads around 20-30%, then show us a screenshot of the battery stats. The one you showed includes a partial charge-up some time in the middle.

Also, since you installed GSam Battery Monitor, show us a screenshot of the cell signal strength graph. The reason why I ask for this is that one of the main reasons for battery drain is poor cell signal, which can vary throughout the day depending on your location.

This is the cell signal strength. I will send other screen shot when I'm done charging it to 100%, after normal use when battery is at 30%

That cell signal strength looks generally ok, but it'll be helpful to see it in relation to the battery stats after most of a battery charge has been used.

Tap the Screen listing -- what's the total screen-on time? I don't see anything too unusual so far, so it might just be that your replacement battery was also old.

What's the total screen-on time? I'm trying to determine if that might still be reasonable battery life, based on how much you were using the screen (which is always the biggest battery user when active).

4 hours of screen time isn't all that bad for a phone, assuming normal intermittent usage throughout the day. Was it a lot better before?
