How do you monitor the temperature?

Battery Heat Safe, one of the many apps. I checked several before picking this one. Free for trail. 99 cents to use past 15 days.

I installed it and every time I try to open it, it says 'unfortunately battery heat safe has stopped'

Meh.. I think I'm going to just return this phone and use the free 256G microSD card Samsung is sending me in my Note 4

Something extremely fishy with this whole mess.
I truly believe there's more to this than the battery

Could it be... Excellent customer service? I know that's a very rare thing these days.

At least they aren't taking the Apple approach and blaming users.

Do a Google play search for "Samsung phone info" download the app, it'll give you more info than you ever wanted to know about your phone including batt temp, cpu temp, date/location of manufacture, etc...

It might be on your box or you can install this app. It tells you a lot about your phone.

    https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...uyen.phoneinfo
I will also check my box when I get home but in the mean time I am downloading the app now. Thank you.

Trust me, you dont have to preach to me. I got an email from Verizon saying to contact a store for more information. I called to see a timeframe of when they would be available. I knew it wasnt going to be today or tomorrow.

Sorry, I didn't mean to sound preachy. I am not going to mention this anymore. I was just saying you probably can't trust anything you hear from any rep today or tomorrow.

Eight days, that isn't unusual at all for manufacturing anything.

I agree but do you really think they can do a million in a couple weeks ?

Sure, all the parts were made, just needed new batteries. Foxconn does like 500K iPhones a day.

    Samsung has 3 manufacturing factories.

I am one of those who ordered online. I am going to WAIT until there is stock, and THEN ask them what to do for the exchange. Until there is new stock, any info we get is likely unreliable, especially in these earliest of days.
You will be able to swap in store without a problem. I preordered online too. No worries.

My Note 7 was manufactured on 8/11 and in my hands in the US on 8/19

8 days is pretty quick if you ask me.
Mine was manufactured August 4 and I received it August 19, though it sat at Fed Ex for five days.

I was going to say that also. Phones were manufactured 8 days prior to being in customers hands. And could have been in their hands sooner had they not been sitting in FedEx for 4-5 days. So no its not impossible to have orders ready in a week.

My only concern at the moment is if everyone's local carriers will have enough stock to cover not only in store purchases, but also people who pre-ordered online.

    i know its still early.
i pre-ordered on the 3rd and received on the 19th. i have received no recall text or email from Verizon or Samsung. i registered the phone on the Samsung website, based on that i kind of expected some communication.

Side note... I had Verizon refuse warranty on a less then year old phone because I bought it third party. They said warranty is void if not purchased thru a line on your account. I escalated to executive customer PR and lost.
It's because they can't verify the date of purchase to know when the warranty starts and also many of the Android warranty's are non-transferable. However, you likely can get warranty service through the manufacturer, just not through Verizon.

With iPhones the warranty is transferable to a new owner since they do everything by IMEI.

Imagine this scared a lot of people away from the phone. I'm sure a good amount of people will go to something else. Probably will be plenty of stock for those who want another Note 7.

Contacted seller said it wasn't his problem PayPal sided with me told them what happened even emailed them the conversations me and seller been having. They escalated claim only problem is got to wait 2 weeks if buyer does not refund money or responed eBay will give me back money
Seller does not have to refund unless you return the phone. So the phone is going to have to be returned. I would tell paypal that you are willing to return the phone to the seller at your cost but the seller is refusing the return.

The phone is defective and has been recalled and only the original owner can participate in the recall exchange program. I am sure that paypal will side with you but you have to return the phone to get a refund. You should be covered by paypal's buyer protection.

Also, I thought you bought from swappa not ebay?
