So I just got off the phone with VZW customer support asking about when to expect a replacement for my Note 7. The first CSR said in order for me to be considered for a replacement I'd have to do a "temporary" swap until the "New" Note 7's are available. I questioned this and she connected me with her supervisor who told me that no "loaner" phones were going to be issued and my options were as follows:

    (a) Up until the 30th return the device and exchange it for another device and when the "New" Note 7's are available return the device I swapped my current Note 7 out with for the new one.

    (b) Opt in to the voluntary recall by returning my Note 7 and return to my old device (which I no longer have)

    (c) Do nothing and whatever happens is on me.

I'm confused, they are telling you that you can't exchange the GN7 straight for a new GN7?

The guy I last talked to at Verizon told me something different but he did say I could just keep the Note and bring it in when the new ones were in and swap it out. So yeah, I think you really can do that. He also made the returning the Note and getting another phone till the new ones were available sound more complicated. And it can only be a s7 or s7 edge. They aren't loaners, he insisted, but they can be returned without penalty for a new Note before the 30th. I have talked to a lot of Verizon people lately and not one of them has said the same thing as any of the others.

Yeah easier for me to trade phone and wait until note 7 is back in stores. Too many different answers. Technically they should charge me restocking on the phone I have if I go back to note 7 but if they waive it because of this big mess that's fine with me. And for the ones saying your phone doesn't get hot or you're using wireless charging, until Samsung issues a statement saying the phones in all these cases were problematic before they caught fire, I'm not taking a chance. Maybe none of the phones had a single issue until the day they caught on fire. I'm a huge Samsung fan but the lack of updating us and the new cases just led me to do the safest thing I could for myself. Everyone is different. My ex would be keeping it on the fast charger on top of a heating pad and under a heat lamp just to see how long it would last. Lol. I'm not that guy.

Ditto. Mine has not gotten warm at all since the first couple days of doing updates.
Same here...always feels just slightly warm but never hot on wireless charge...but still, I've gone back to Note 5, just to be safe...

It worked first time. Returning my phone tomorrow. They said they'd take it back if I had headphones and charger. Didn't have ear buds but my buddy's wife had some from her S7 Edge she's giving me. Boom.
And what phone are you going to stick with in the long run?

I imagine it will be next week before we get official shipment notice on the Note 7's, perhaps even 2 weeks. They want to ensure this problem has been resolved and these have to come from overseas. I would think we would have had an official notice by now.

In the meantime, those who choose to continue to use their Note 7's, please be cautious. Otherwise, tough it out on your former or loaner phone. Believe me, as much as I loved the Note 5, it was hard to go back to it while I wait this out. I know everyone is anxious to get this recall behind us...

Well. Austria Samsung said. They will have restocked the new note7 by the 21st.

Our number one priority is the safety of our customers, which is why we’ve worked hard to provide new replacement Note7 devices as quickly as possible. We appreciate our customers’ continued support as we start to deliver this new stock to operators and retailers around the country from September 21,”

Also the packaging will have a slight upgrade to tell recall from new ones. Some square icon by the bar code etc.

Speaking of the iPhone 6s plus. My cousins 6 month old phone died on her this morning. Will not come on. Took it to the apple store. They say they will not replace it because the frame is bent. Those phones should have been recalled lol. But nah not apples phones

I've been checking this thread. But still not having any problem with mine. I wireless charge. I wake up in the morning and the phone isn't even remotely warm.
If I tell you the countless ones I've heard to die from the screen of death(won't turn on anymore) or become the touch unresponsive. With Apple actually putting useful features an adequate hardware their using that most reliable battle every day. Go figure 😒.

I just spoke with Verizon and from what they said, I'm about to just get cozy with my Note 5 again for a good while. Absolutely no ETA despite rumors and the like. If we can go by that official Samsung Australia comment, I would assume the US would get it at or before September 21st. But I am preparing for it to be longer.

Verizon reps never know anything. Until it is listed on the computer for recall or for sale they know nothing.

I hope they will be there before Sept 24th I forgot I will be in a cruise and out of the country till Oct 8th

That being said my local company store just told me 'No way can I exchange my phone today for a LOANER phone, If I exchanged today I am married to that phone , I could exchange it with in 14 days and pay the fee etc." So for me no exchange of my N7 to an S7 back to the New N7 when they arrive.

I am going to keep my Note until the new units are out.

I have R/C cars and I know what happens when your batteries get too hot or over charge they catch fire everywhere I used to race we had to have a battery sack while charging incase the battery catches fire and since I have see it before I just turned off my fast charger and charge my phone over night without any issues.

Verizon told me last night accessories fall under the normal 14 day return policy.. So for me if I don't keep the note 7 I will lose $140 in accessories cost.

You : Want to know latest info when new Samsung Note 7 phones are in stock to replace the 2 I have

Riley : Thank you for contacting the Verizon Wireless Chat Team regarding your account. How can we help you today?

Riley : Oh! I can definitely check the options on how can we review the details regarding the recall of the NOte 7.

Riley : I am now pulling up the account.

Riley : By the way, good afternoon, Wade.

Riley : Pleased to meet you..

    You : thanks

Riley : Upon checking here, you would need to send back your Note 7 to the nearest Verizon store. They would be able to check your device if your Note 7 is part of the batch that has issue on teh battery. Once they have figured out that your phone is part of the note 7 that has an issue, you can definitely replace your phone to any device that you want to get

You : I want to exchange Note 7 for new Note 7, not a different phone. My question is has Verizon received shipments of the NEW Note 7s

Riley : Yes. You can also replace your device to a New Note 7 right away.

You : so you can ship me 2 Note 7 phones now

Riley : Have you already sent back your 2 Note 7?

You : Can't send it back until I transfer data to new phone. also need phone to use

Riley : My apologies for the long wait.

Riley : YOu would need to go back to the store so that they can help you backing up your device and replace your device to a new Note 7.

    Riley : your files*

You : You have not answered my question. Does Verizon and/or it's stores actually have new Note 7 phones now.

Riley : As of now, Samsung hasn't released any details for the new batch of Note 7 being released in the market.

You : OK, that's not what I was hoping to hear, but my question was finally answered. Took a very long time to get the answer. Perhaps that is why I had to wait a while for this chat.

You : I will check back perhaps tomorrow

Riley : I'm so sorry if I took so much of your time. If there is anything else I can help you with in addition, please let me know.

You : no that is it

Riley : Before I let you go, have I ensured that all your concerns or questions are resolved today within our session?

You : you did answer the question. and my concerns have not been resolved, but it is not due to anything you have done. This situation is beyond your control. And I am sure you will be glad when all the Note 7s have been replaced.

Riley : That is correct! I understand how important it is to have a working phone at all times.

Riley : I also rely in my phone and I was also excited in getting the new Note 7 until I've heard yesterday that Apple release their newest iPhone 7.
Riley : I am a Samsung user too but perhaps, I will be moving to Apple soon.

    You : OK

Riley : Do you have any further questions or concerns I may assist you with?

    You : no goodbye

Riley : Thank you for choosing Verizon Wireless and being a valued customer since 2013. Know that our goal is to empower you so please use My Verizon.com to manage your account. Again, this is Riley, your account specialist.

Riley : Have a happy weekend!

And so it goes, like sand through an hourglass, like the days of our lives.

We all have seen how Verizon can't answer simple questions or give the same answer twice.

Now they seem to be having Data issues with over charging customers

Most double data uses come in the middle of the night while customers are asleep. Any of you notice problems ?

This was similar to the response I got when we went to our local verizon store. Although the sales rep said they believe they should be In stock within the next two weeks , or before Sept 30th, I asked him what if they hadn't arrived before then. He told us that if we wait until after September 30th (because no new Note7s in stock yet), we will only be eligible for a warranty replacement phone. There is no refund option. Basically, exchange it for another device in stock before September 30th is your only option or don't. That's what I got from the conversation at our local VZW store.

However, we decided to call Verizon customer service because this had conflicted what I had read. The customer service rep told us that what we were told was wrong. She said that we could return it and get a S7, then when the new Note 7s arrive, we would then return the S7 (in good condition), and get our new Note7. The customer service rep even checked with her supervisor who confirmed this. Apparently, this option was recently added. The rep said she'd call our local store to ensure everyone is on the same page. So, we will find out later today if this all happens. The customer service rep said she'd call us after she calls the store to let us know.

Just visited a Verizon Corporate Store in Dublin, Ohio, and they have not received any new Note 7s and they do not have any information regarding when they will get them in. Yesterday I stopped in a Best Buy and asked the Samsung representative there and she said the end of this week, and then a Best Buy representative said they are not scheduled for any shipments to be delivered. He said next week. I admit, I am having a difficult time being patient.
