I was told about the double exchange by a CSR when I called the 800 number, not by going in a select corporate store.

My experience was the exact opposite. Called two days ago and was told by the CSR the option wasn't even on the table and ANY double exchange (even with a J series) had to be done direct through Samsung. Called again yesterday and that CSR stated essentially what is on the Samsung site that I could get a temp loaner for double exchange or regular exchange to an S7. Again, no double exchange with an S7 has been offered to me directly.

EDIT: Let me clarify that. It's not so much that the double S7 exchange wasn't offered. I specifically asked about it and they expressly denied it both times.

Actually no. The part you put in bold was for the J series or similar phone loaner. The S7 falls under the second option, which omits a second exchange to a new Note 7.
Wow, you're right. I missed that :/ My store and CS said any phone, and def can switch back to the N7 when they're in. I'm gonna be insanely pissed of I'm stuck with the N5 after having one for a year! Especially since my payment plan is at the N7's price. Ugh.

I tried getting it in writing too but to no avail. However, as of last Monday, both the online chat and my store are saying the same thing. I can use the S7 Edge until the Note 7 is back out and exchange again with no penalties. First time I got both to agree on that. They both said that Verizon is now on the same page on that. Neither would show me any official statement but at least they both said the same thing. The local store told me that, both the person helping me and the store manager. The online chat at least I could email to myself (not that it would help I reckon but at least I have it saying I could double exchange). I also saw where they noted the in store conversation on my account so at least that part is in the notes on my account.
So, I finally feel Verizon is doing better. I'm just really not sure why they don't just put it in print. It might be because they are just hoping people will exchange and live with a new phone and they are done. Exchanges take time and money (even though Sammy will pay for it all in the long run I'm sure).
I gotta say, the S7 Edge is a wonderful phone. If I wasn't spoiled with the S pen, I'd keep this but I can't function without my S pen.

I'm just waiting until I can exchange one Note 7 for another brand new Note 7. ;)

Same here. I have a Note 5 that I have not sold yet, so using it until the new note 7 comes out.
I went to the store and was told I could do the double swap if I wanted. When I asked about getting that in writing I was told "trust me, I'm telling you that you will be able to do that". Right. Trust a sales person at Verizon?
Also those that keep their notes would be the first in line to get a new one. Again I believe that about as far as I could throw that 250 lb sales person.

When I went into the Verizon stores yesterday, they told me I could exchange for any phone and then swap back when the new N7 comes out. Any accessories I purchased for that loaner phone would get refunded back to me.

This is exactly what happened to me about 11 days ago.
Yesterday they acted like they would never tell anyone that .

I have no interest in temp loaner. I will keep mine until the replacements come in. I went to bestbuy store this morning as soon as they opened. I went to mobile department. THe kid knew absolutely nothing about any policy. He turns to a young lady behind him and asks her. With a tone that seemed more like I do not even need to know what you are talking about you are wrong she tells us both that I am wrong. She also said I am passed my 14 days for a return. Meanwhile the kid starts looking on the computer and he finds the info I told them was there. He says WOW! I did not know that and shakes my hand . He told me thank you this will be very helpful. Young lady standing right there says nothing. I asked her what will happen to my screen protector you guys put on when I got the phone. She said deal with Samsung. . Anyways young man was VERY fast finding the info .He asked my my tel# and promptly printed out my pre order withing 5 minutes of me arriving there. For the hell of it I walked over to the in store Samsung specialist at her own booth. I asked her about what is going on with the note 7. She looked down from her phone just long enough to tell me "I don't know, call Samsung". When I was younger I would have had an issue with that and made it known. I am older now and let that pass.

So got off chat with Samsung. The rep stated the fixed phones are ready to be shipped out, they are just waiting on approval to start shipping. I asked about any gift for returning to the note 7 and was told they don't know of any gift as of yet.

Also I asked about accessories and how do we go about the ones we purchased from Amazon and returning them. The rep told me to just call Amazon and they will do a return. I will try this later today and see if they actually take them back. Guess if you bought a case and didn't like it, might be a good way to return it without any fees.

When I did my exchange for a loaner phone, the rep did state Samsung indicated the loaner phone to be the "J" series devices. The rep stated since they didn't have any in stock I could get any other phone I wanted. This may be the reason some of us have no issues getting the S7E while others are having issues.

At the Canton, Ohio store I was offered any phone. They told me it didn't matter but if I wanted the S7E they only had it in Black.

In my case I do not believe anything Verizon or its stores say. The only thing less trustworthy is a politician,, wait make that I trust a politician more than Verizon. If is not in writing, and even then I may be cautious, I won't believe it. Verizon will change their position whenever they want.

Those that took advantage of the "double exchange" and got a S7 or S7E could very well be stuck with them. You are depending on the Verizon's or store employee word.

To update and clarify my previous posts a bit. In a post on another thread I posted what a TS rep for my network extender told me (http://forums.androidcentral.com/sa...izon-note-7-recall-thread-27.html#post5402113), who was almost insistent that I exchange for an S7 or S7E.

I just received my replacement 4G extender and am currently on the phone having them activate it. And AGAIN, as the previous TS rep did, HE brought up my Note 7 AND this time the double exchange. He repeated what the store told me last night. I told him I was annoyed to have to go back to the Note 5 and first he said, "You can choose ANY device to trade for", and mentioned the S7's. I explained that I really needed the S-Pen, so my only option was the Note 5. He said, "Remember, you can switch back to the Note 7 as soon as they're available again at no charge."

And you missed the part where it says, "select carriers". Meaning not all carriers are going to offer a double swap.
So apparently this was a menu for the providers to pick and choose from, lol??
Well, this is a Verizon thread ;) Seriously tho, I know we're all just sharing our individual experiences, but mine have been consistent from:
- two different TS reps, with zero prompting from me
- the corporate store reps a few days ago when I went in with a problem with my Gear S2 Classic (they saw the Note 7 on my account) and were encouraging me to trade right then
- the same corporate store (different reps) last night when beginning the process for the Note 5 (was only 32GB so I had to do it on the phone)
- the phone reps who I called last night and are sending the Note 5

Again, a grain of salt. We won't really know, until we know.

That makes sense. They never mentioned the J series (I never heard of it until the recall), and only just now saw it on VZW's site. Wonder if it's been there all along?

So my friend was told, by a Verizon Store rep, to come in today to exchange her Note 7 for the new Note 7. Me, being highly skeptical, told her to make sure it has the sticker on it, because i have yet to hear or read from anyone (media or forums) that the new ones are available and/or being given out. I told her to let me know how her consult goes. LOL

I think it has been there, but looks to be a cheap phone with low specs that no one cares for. Which makes it the perfect loaner phone! Lol

My experience Monday at a corporate store and later best buy...

Entered corporate store and asked greeter/sign-up guy what my options were for my note7. He said full return or pick out any phone for now and they'd swap me back for a note7 when they're available again. (Totally his suggestion - never had to ask)

Asked him a couple more questions and he put me on the check-in list so I could talk to an agent (I'm assuming that door checker is the beginner position in the store).

Looked around at all the phones in the store for 5 minutes or so, pulling out my note7 to compare with a couple different options. Let me just say there was nothing as slim, smooth, or better screen in the whole place - even the 2 S7 models seemed klunky and poorly put together by comparison.

Then had 2 agents approach as I was holding my note7 next to an S7e. The guy explained the options I had while the female agent nodded and offered assurances that the whole double swap thing would be easy (it was almost like they were prepared for customers to pitch a fit - no surprise given the entitlement attitude in this town). I mentioned that, from what I'm reading, the failure rate seems pretty low, and I'm thinking I'd rather just keep using mine and wait to swap when replacements are available. The guy proceeds to look around the room, then pull his note7 out of his pocket and say that was his plan! The girl agreed, and showed hers, too!

Guy says something to the effect of 'of course, we have to say you should turn it in now...'

Thanked them for their time and said I'd be back hopefully next week.

Later, at best buy looking at a surface pro 4 for my wife's birthday, i was listening to the rep explain the value of the pen they include with the tablet. Pulled out my note7 and said I'm already sold on the pen idea - rep had one in his pocket as well and said he was going to wait for a replacement N7 too. He said he felt he was more likely to get in a car wreck on the way home than to have his N7 burn up.

That's my experience, your mileage may vary, you should turn in your phone now, the sky is falling, the check is in the mail, if you don't enjoy it we'll just stop, blah blah blah...
