AT&T Note 7 Recall Thread
- I chatted with an att rep a little while ago about this. He claimed that I could just go to any att store to do the exchange. I'd like to see this spelled out in their statement though.09-02-2016 10:14 PMLike 0
- Yeah you should if they say that. Some carriers are saying if you return it, the you don't have one ordered for you but wait for new stock.09-02-2016 10:15 PMLike 0

- They did. Its in the 2nd faq of how to exchange the device but it says take it to the store you bought your device.09-02-2016 10:21 PMLike 0
- So, is AT&T the only one not offering a return outside 14 days? (figures) I like how Samsung waited to announce details jut AFTER the 14 or 15 day return periods passed for most carriers.09-02-2016 10:24 PMLike 0

My plan is to keep my Note 7 until I can exchange it for a new Note 7. My concern is the fact that I ordered from att.com. I saw someone say they were told we can just go to a AT&T retail store, I'm guessing that's how it will work. I'm also worried about how much of a pain in the *** it might be to get lucky and walk in when they have a new Note 7 I can exchange for and walk out with. Hope to get this over with ASAP.
If I start feeling nervous about using my Note 7 I luckily bough a Blu R1 HD from Amazon partly to have it as a backup phone and partly just because it was so cheap with Amazon prime ($60). I would rather use that than go to the store, exchange for a S7 Edge, use it while waiting for the new batch of Note 7 phones, and go back to get one of those.09-02-2016 10:33 PMLike 0 - 09-02-2016 10:47 PMLike 0
- Just visited my local ATT company store. Milpitas,Ca. Rep said they do not have any stock for exchanges. They don't know when they will come. They didn't know anything about ordering a replacement. I was told I can return for a full refund or exchange for another phone. One rep said to go through Samsung for an exchange. I got the feeling that they still don't know what is going on despite the text message that went out. I'll just wait it out as my N7 has been flawless. Knock on wood.09-02-2016 11:02 PMLike 0

Sounds like the manager needs to contact their district manager.09-02-2016 11:06 PMLike 0 -

The cases can be returned to best buy but the screen protectors cant since they have been installed.09-02-2016 11:09 PMLike 0

- This just keeps getting worse and more frustrating. Spent 20 minutes in online chat with AT&T specialist - you can take your phone into your local corporate store if you bought it online (good part), but they may not have Note7 for some time. Worse yet, they want you to bring it in NOW because he said they had reported cases of phones "literally blowing up in hand" which I find incredulous. Will post chat as soon as I get my email transcript.09-02-2016 11:13 PMLike 0

He isn't telling you what corporate AT&T is telling you.09-02-2016 11:14 PMLike 0 - This just keeps getting worse and more frustrating. - Here's the transcript of my chat session with the AT&T tech advisor:
Mxxxxx : We are doing exchanges under our Buyer's Remorse, even if yours has expired, and regardless of the condition of the phone.
Mxxxxx : The standard restocking fee is waived as well.
Dale : So I'll need to do a mail-in return? Or do I take it to my local store?
Mxxxxx : No, you can return them to a corporate store as well.
Dale : Do I have to return it before a replacement Note 7 is available, or will I be without a phone.
Mxxxxx : It is recommended they be returned for another Samsung device now, since it is a huge safety concern. Once new note 7's become available, you can get one at that time. There currently is no information on when they may be re-released.
Dale : My smartphone is essential to my law practice - I gave up my iPhone 6s Plus for the GN7, which I use constantly. There isn't another comparable device.
Mxxxxx : I can understand that important need. But this recall is happening because phone have literally blown up in users hands. That is why the message you received came as a warning.
Mxxxxx : Samsung is working with all service providers to get the issue corrected and the phone back out ASAP.
Dale : OK - I'll contact my local corporate AT&T store tomorrow.
Mxxxxx : We apologize for any inconvenience, but your safety is AT&T's and Samsung's primary consideration.
Mxxxxx : Is there anything else I can assist you with today?
Mxxxxx : Did you need the contact for your local store?
Dale : Can I just bring it in and cancel everything - go back to iPhone? I visit my local store frequently.
Mxxxxx : You can get anything you prefer. Your Installment is voided as well, so you can start new.09-02-2016 11:36 PMLike 0
