It is a big deal. Samsung packages these the way they do for a reason. AT&T has no good reason to re package them. Also, I bet that means that they've removed the headphones and Lord knows what else in the process of their repackaging. They did that with my Note 4.

You stole my thunder, but yes they take your headphones and resell the cheap bastards.

You will get:

1 USB-C cable
1 Adaptive Fast Charger
1 Pair of earbuds
1 Micro USB 2.0 to USB OTG dongle
1 Micro USB 2.0 to USB-C adapter

Oh...and a Note 7.

Re: Why AT&T?

Everything in tact on T-Mobile, Samsung box, Earphones, no ugly carrier logo. And it comes in Samsung box, Earphones etc even on Verizon. May be you haven't bought recent Samsung flagships?

My most recent Samsung was the Note 5 and we did the get squat other than the charging clock and cable.

AT&T doesn't package (or re-package) anything. It is all done at the Samsung factory as part of the custom packaging process the carriers pay for, just like the ugly carrier logos on the back. DO you think they have some person stamping all the logos by hand somewhere in the USA? The carriers order it packaged the way they want it packaged. AT&T doesn't open all the Samsung boxes, throw them out, put them in AT&T boxes then steal your $1.00 value headphones. That's just plain silly and time wasting.

So the OTG dongle is micro usb and not usb-c? Does that mean you'd have to plug a dongle into another dongle to use it? That seems an odd way to do it.

Obviously they don't technically 'repackage' them. But there's no good reason to have just their phones put into stupid boxes when Samsung packages their stuff so nicely. Sorry, but I enjoy the nice packaging when I spend $800+ on a device. And I wouldn't mind them removing the $1 earbuds if they sold them for $1 to me, but they try to hustle me out of $15-$20 for the headphones I should've gotten to begin with. And at the end of the day, it's the principle. Again, there's no good reason for it.

I asked this question on AT&T website. Will the Galaxy Note 7 come in original manufacturer box, or will it come in AT&T branded orange and white box. And the reply was. Greetings, That’s a great question, I’m glad you asked! The Samsung Galaxy Note 7, is a brand new device and will come in Samsung’s original packaging. It will also include the following items: · Quick Charge Charging Block · USB Type C Cable and USB Connector · Stereo Headest · S Pen · SIM tray tool Hope this helps! I remember that with my Note Edge. I called and complainted and received a free pair from AT&T. I prefer Samsung packaging but as long as I get everything I'll be ok.

That's good. I'm glad they hooked you up. Again, it's not about just the cheap earbuds, it's about these carriers having too much sway. Samsung obviously is fine giving us the cheap buds, so butt the hell out, AT&T.

I always keep the box. Gives it a better resale value or for warranty purposes.

Meh the box gets put in the storage closet with the rest of my Note boxes from AT&T within a hour of buying it. Yeh the black box is nice but soon as I get home that's where it will go for another year plus.

The point is there is no good reason other than that's what AT&T wants and that's what they get. Samsung delivers the devices to AT&T in their box of choice. Maybe (and for the love) you'll get a fancy Samsung box you can put in a drawer or the closet and forget about it. It's a freaking box!

I got the s7 edge in original samsung packaging from AT&T. Is there a reason why it would be different for the Note?
