I installed a 64gb Evo Samsung card and the Note 7 says no sd card installed. Anyone else have this issue? I did move it from my Note 3 though I can't imagine the formatting is different.

I would remove it and reseat it in its spot. Those can be a tad touchy.

I also moved my 64gb Evo Samsung card from my N3 to N7 and it Recognized it immediately..... I did turn the N7 off before pulling the tray out tho

One would expect a new 256 card to work..
The op is having trouble with a card previously used in another phone

My mistake. I missed that. Note 3. Hmm....May need to reformat. Or just buy a new one and transfer content. I mean you can get a new micro SD 64 gb for less than $20 on Amazon

I would copy everything to a PC just to be safe. Then have the PC reformat, and then reformat again on the phone.

I must have done something wrong then cause it's a no-go. Will have to try a new card. My worry is that there's not even an option to format. I would think the phone should be able to see a card regardless of the format, then give me the option to format.

You're right. It should, but there is a big difference between should and do.
