I have a coral blue AT&T Note 7 from Best Buy. I used the app LTE discovery to check the dBM vs the Nexus 6P. The 6P's data reception was about 4-5 dBm better. Note 7 at my desk was 117-119 dBm and 6P was 111-114 dBm at my desk. Results were about the same when I used the same SIM card vs a different SIM card with the phones right next to each other.

Too bad since it is the nicest phone I have ever held, beautiful display and a great camera. I was hoping the new antenna would help.

I might be wrong, but I am not sure that there is any difference between those numbers. They look to be statistically identical. "What a shame" of 4 or 5 dBm. Heck the exact location on your desk, a car driving by between you and the tower, your hand being slightly more sweaty. 4 or 5 points is nothing.

The phones are provisioned differently iPhone vs Android I do not believe using the same Sim card should be a fair test as using a android provisioned card in an apple can effect data services or vice versa. At least that's how I understand it someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Edit nvm didn't see the part where he tested same and different

I wouldn't sweat a 4 dBm or so difference. I highly doubt you'd see a difference in speed and whatnot.
