For those worried about battery life why not buy the official Samsung battery case?

I'm loving this battery life.. I even streamed music to a Bluetooth speaker outside for 2 hours today. Much better battery life than my note 5.

6 hours 42 minutes SOT with 9 hours off the charger is not typical. Typically, unless you are doing something out of the ordinary, you want your phone to last all day. That screen time is great. But, don't expect to get 16 hours off the charger and almost 7 hours SOT. Some people are comparing against other people and should just be comparing their stats to their previous phone.
I agree, this is not normal. I was not expecting to see this. I do generally get through most of a day on one charge. I have very heavy days from time to time and can burn through a full charge in half a day.

Tomorrow will be my first full work day with my new Note 7. I'll be keeping an eye on things and see how it goes.

Sitting here off and on playing with mine all day, I have 3hr 9min on SOT and used 50% of the battery. Been off charger for slightly over 11 hours.

Also, where's the obligatory, "you have 4 hours SOT! Go outside! That's too much on your phone! Get a job ye hippy varmints and get off my lawn!" That guy is always fun.

I CRINGE so much at these posts. they happen after every phone. there are always around 4 guys who get double the standard screen on time like they've somehow managed to defy science. its not hard to put screen brightness at an unreadable level, using wifi and gimping your phone. its just not realistic and hardly something to brag about. ah you internet folk never cease to amaze
When I first got my S7e and was getting 7hrs of SOT via wifi and mobile data and around 50% brightness. Just because your unit can't achieve that doesn't mean every one has a bad apple.

I may be wrong but it seems that the battery threads and battery bashing are pretty low for a high end android release. It seems in the past this thread would already have a 1k responses about how bad the battery is and how to fix and tweak it. I find the battery just fine, but not great. It seems to be better than my note 5 and a little worse than my iphone 6s plus. On a busy day at work I can get 5.5 to 6 hours of screen time but only last 10 to 11 hours. This weekend I've gotten 13 to 14 hours with 3.75 hours and 4.5 hours. Both are good for me on weekends when I don't use my phone as much.

So far I am impressed with N7 battery life based on my own past two devices: N4 and MXPE. Based on my own relative use SOT:

    Note 4 = 4 hours
    MXPE = 3.5 hours
    Note 7 = 5 hours
Note 7 in FHD with all other settings normal = 6 hours

The bonus about FHD is IMO the display still looks great. The usage is based on a mix of app use that leverages the gpu more. Less GPU heavy apps, less savings.

The power setting options are fantastic.

I'm pretty happy I must say, this is only day 1.5 with it too. Only thing I Ave to figure out is what that Android System is and what I can do to reduce that usage, usually screen is #1 for me, this is odd. I went from the 6s Plus to a Moto Z Force and the Force gets far better battery life than the 6s Plus. I would have thought the Note 7 would get similar battery life to the Z Force since they both have 3500mah batteries.
So far, it doesn't. I've been comparing the Note 7 to my Z Force for the last several days. Not jumping to any conclusions yet, since the Note 7 is still new and the Z Force has had a couple weeks to settle, but battery life on the Z has shown to be significantly better. (One example, that "Android System" heading on the Note 7 is unbelievably high, while it hardly registers on the Z Force.) I'll give it a few more days though.

I was one of the initial ones to report concern with the battery life. I'm happy to report that after two days or so the life of the battery has changed dramatically. After almost three hours of use, still on 90%.

Honestly I think my method of measuring battery life is more accurate. I just check what percent I lose in a typical hour of constant use. On my s 7 Edge, I lost sixteen percent per hour. On my note 7, I lose fifteen percent.
