So almost a week in and I am actually more impressed. With my Note 5 I was getting 8 or 9 hours with SOT of 3-3.5 on average. I'm a heavy user but not with videos or any gaming. Text Gmail news feeds. That's about it and then about 60-90 minutes of calls.

On the N7 I am getting 9-10 hours with 4-4.5 hours of SOT. So an improvement.

Granted my 6s+ I was getting 10-12 hours but don't know SOT usage as it isn't displayed. But I knew that coming in.

Mixed bag for me. Took it off the charger at 10am, some light browsing; came home played mobius final fantasy for 4+ hours at highest performance.

It's not great, but it's definitely worth it. I'm sure I could stretch it if I really wanted to.

So what Screen on Time is everyone getting. I see people in XDA getting 6-7, I can barely get 4-5 with some disabled bloat.
You can make the phone have 8 hours SoT if you really wanted to, but then you'll have to disable everything that makes the phone a Note.

Not worth it imo.

Today is a day #1. It's been heavily used for 11.5 hours up to now with 6 hours remaining.

My Note 7 puts my Note 5 to shame with SoT. I could get 2.5 hours SoT with the N5, yesterday I got 6 he's SoT with the N7. I was ecstatic! I turned on the mid level battery saver, people to that I was getting 5 hours SoT. I am extremely happy with the N7. Unfortunately the Note 5 is going back to Sprint, I've had it for a year and they want $475 if I don't return it, it was ok, but that battery life is not worth $475 for me to keep it and I keep all of my phones, just not the Note 5. 😕

I turned off wifi scanning, that's a big one. BT is off unless I'm using it. Location is off when I'm home. I use package disabler pro and disabled a bunch of Sprint and Samsung stuff like the health tracker, Gear apps and Fipboard. Sync is on for Google apps but no sync for FB or Twitter.

This is all of the exact same stuff I did for the Note 5 in order to get 2.5 hours of SoT. I couldn't understand how people were getting 5 hours SoT with the Note 5, and I even FDR that phone. I haven't had to do that with this one.

For those of you getting 5+ SoT, what apps have you disabled, and what others things you are doing to obtain such SoT

I have google location reporting on with high accuracy (I love google now). BT, wifi and AOD always on. Screen brightness set to auto. I get about 4 hours SOT.

Today, I turned screen resolution to HD (my naked eye can't tell the difference) but that also turns off AOD. I am getting 5.25 hours SOT today. But I love AOD, so this won't be the norm. I wish there was a way to set screen resolution to HD and still have AOD on.

I have not bothered with package disabler pro. Used it on my S6E, S7 and S7E and its more trouble than its worth. No noticeable difference for me without it this time. I do however go into each app, and pay close attention to permissions.
