Lately I've noticed that the screen turns on whenever I receive a notification. I'd rather just the sound or vibration, but not for the screen to wake up. Any ideas?

Yes! I have the same question and have searched everywhere but cannot find the answer. People have said to just disable notifications but I use a Microsoft Band and it uses the notification from the phone to display on the band. Disabling notifications is not an option.

There must be a way to keep the screen from turning on every time I get an email. Driving me crazy!

Only thing I've found is to use a third-party messaging app, since that seemed to be the only instance in which it occurred. Textra has an option to disable that and it seems to be working out fine.

If you use the Always On Screen option they when you get a notification you get the sound/vibration per your setup and a small icon to indicate what program sent the notification. Otherwise the screen doesn't change.

I tried but that did not work either.

Which apps are these notifications from?

Nine email and Outlook email. The default text messaging app does not do it. I tried to compare settings between the apps but they are not the same when you drill down into them.

I figured it out. I was also running the Next lock screen App. There was a setting in there to toggle. Feel silly for not thinking of it sooner!

Wait. I actually WANT my screen to turn on when I get texts or emails. Why won't my screen do that?

Haha - well, if you download the "Next Lock Screen" app, there is a setting in there
