I noticed camera has a setting for video stabilization and I was wondering if that is for software stabilization and if the OIS is always on? This is what I feel it is but I can't find anything to confirm that.
Hey there.
OIS is always-on. The video-stabilization option is for EIS.
EIS isn't available when recording 1440p and 2160p/4K video, but OIS is available for all resolutions.
The main purpose of EIS when recording video is to help OIS by smoothing out the wobble-effect and also to further stabilize the recording.
Hope this helps.
Not really, but some EIS systems seriously crop the footage, while others may have slightly "buzzy" pictures.Does EIS have any detrimental effect on picture quality? Or you would recommend using it? Thanx.
