Glad I did not order any or these. I had a couple in my cart on Amazon.

    Why are they unsafe?

May cause your battery to explode or do damage to your phone.

If you plug it into a device that requires more power it will power that device... And if you then plug it into another device that requires less power it will deliver the same high power that the previous device needed and you will destroy the components in the device that doesn't require and cannot handle that power

You can only buy that specific model in America and Amazon stopped selling it already so I think you will be ok, just buy the usb a to use c one as that one is safe

Hmmm...I bought a 2 pack of the adapters. I'll be on the lookout for posted issues. I thought Anker was reliable.

I wish there weren't so many issues with USB C cables and adapters. They need to get this together.

I have a USB c that I am using in my car. I don't intend to use it in any other way. It charges the phone while in the mount. Would it be safe since I don't intend to use it for anything else?

I've learned with Samsung phones to pretty much use only Samsung cables/chargers.

I could be wrong (I'm no expert!), but in researching USB-C cables, I found that some contain a 56k ohm resistor in them, and, apparently, the purpose of this resistance is to prevent a power supply from supplying more power than the phone/computer is asking for.

This doesn't affect the cables that came in the box right?

No. Nothing out of the Samsung Box is affected.

They are pretty good. Not perfect but also... The only one that I know of to do a recall even though numerous other usb c cables have not met usb c spec.

If you buy a third usb c cable, make sure it is Benny approved.

Theoretically, Amazon isn't selling "bad" USB-C cables - Amazon will no longer sell USB cords that fry your laptop - Mar. 31, 2016

But they don't check them out first... The customers would report it and then they would pull it with enough complaints

That should be fine, but they we replace I'd you have one of the cables.

The problem comes from using different devices with the cord.

I would still be nervous. I'm going to stick with only Samsung for the time being.
Does Samsung even make a fast car charger with USB C ?

Car chargers are fine and the only cable with an issue is the C to C cable and not the A to C cable.

I almost brought a c to c. But I realized that would be stupid. The note wouldn't benefit from it. Nothing I owned would. All that would mean is I would have to replace all my fast chargers with type c types and gain no benefit for my cost.

Even the one in the box was an a to c.

I still wasted my money on c to a. Once i5 tried wireless I was hooked. I now own 3 samsung wireless chargers. 1 is an non fast normal charge mini pad. Only non samsung I'll have is the car wireless mount.

My note may never be plugged in again.
