Stop. Just stop posting for 5 minutes and relax.

Three of the four carrcars have made material, public communications yet you are sitting there calling and speaking to phone reps who know less than we do about this recall.

I hope T-Mobile does the same. Give us a similar device while we wait for a replacement.
Are you sure they are loaners? Seems expensive burden on carriers, since they do not maintain in-box premium loaners. Be careful, since might be a permanent exchange.

Sprint already released a statement. It says you can check with Samsung for updates but they will be exchanging for temporary phones while everything is sorted out. Carrier Recall Thread-1787.jpg

I don't know how that exchange would work with my EIP if it were permanent. I would have to get something in writing that would say this is a loaner until I get my replacement.

And of course Verizon is completely silent about the issue.
They should say: "Please refer to Samsung's statement. Since Samsung still is not sure and will take a up to few weeks to understand the actual impact, we will update when Samsung does."

What else could they objectively say at this point?

    Immediate exchanges until it's resolved.
The phone is still for sale on the site.

Messaged Verizon this morning. Was told phone orders were being processed as normal and new orders were being taken.
If that's actually true someone at Verizon ought to be looking for a job.

There's a sticky that contains statements from Samsung and the carriers.

Though I'd keep this thread open just so we can get updated info.

It's still too soon. Word hasn't made it out fully, I guess. There are a lot of stores and people to sift the info down through. This is one case in which it is better to be with Sprint - fewer people exchanging. I feel for the workers that are exempt from OT. Their work lives (all of the employees, really) will be a mad house while this is going on.

They are still on sale on the Verizon site so the rep is telling the truth.

Of course not. How could they be? It's going to be a riot. Given that this just happened officially today, I'm sure if I went to my local store they would have no idea what I'm talking about. Stores aren't even open here yet.

They are not...I just called a corporate store who said they'd been askinf for and waiting for details...I told them about the tweet and a manager list his mind and then said they'd call me back.

In all fairness...that tweet is 40 minutes old and the stores ha r been open for 44 minutes...let's give them some time to get updated.

I think I will just put my sim in my OnePlus 3 and power the N7 down just to be safe. I have a driving school this weekend and it will be hot outside, no need to take any chances. I hope to hear something soon.

I am not sure if anyone has spoke to a Samsung rep yet but this is what they have told me over the phone: "The issue isn't in phones that were shipped to the US."

Will know more in the next 24 hours I guess.
