There is one good thing to come out of this huge recall... at least the homepage isn't being flooded by stories about Pokemon.

Granted, it is unfortunate that the Note 7 recall is what had to be the thing that took its place. But it's not Pokémon.

What the Note 7 recall and Pokemon have in common however, is that people are going insane.

People like the ones in this forum are the reason that the president in all of these natural disaster movies doesn't want to get on the television and tell people that the end is near. People in large groups have difficulty thinking rationally and then they begin behaving insanely. Only this isn't an earthquake or aliens, it is a defective phone.

People have read all of the statements from each of their carriers and from Samsung and from the respective stores that they purchased the devices from. They know the options, and still they are screaming and complaining about store X not handling a massive recall with exact precision.

Just stop. Take a breath. All of the new devices will be shipping out before too long. Until then, use some common sense and just do what is reasonable and rational.

I am posting a list of do's and don'ts for the seemingly distraught people of the Android Central forums.

    Do NOT
    - charge the phone inside of your baby's crib.

    - charge your telephone while holding it in your mouth.

    - leave your phone charging unattended

    - charge your phone while sleeping if you are the kind of person who could get robbed at night and never even wake up.

    - berate some por pock-faced kid at Best Buy, or scream at some Indian guy on the phone because you don't get exactly what you want right this second

    - clog up the customer service of every store in the United States or help desk in Asia at this exact moment making it impossible for anyone to get help at the moment.

    DO

    - sit down, have a snack.

When the stock of replacements comes in, even if you haven't had any problems, go ahead and exchange your phone. It'll give you peace of mind for the next couple of years, and may even protect you a year from now from problems that you don't even know about. It doesn't have to be any exact day, the world's supply of Galaxy Note 7 is not going to run out.

    - top off the charge on your device when you can pay attention to it.

    - if it is glowing red, or if you touch it and it is much hotter than you expect, unplug it. You should probably take it back today, it might be dangerous. Get some other phone if you don't have a backup, it's okay, you have a 14 day return window for that anyways. If you really want the note 7, then maybe you eat a $30 restocking fee, and that sucks. Hopefully you can get out of it. Just be polite and explain rationally what happened. Otherwise, maybe you find a really great piece of hardware that you never would have normally tried and you really like it. Worst case scenario, you lose $30 in exchange for not having a phone that's going to explode. We called this a win... or maybe just a first world problem.

    - be polite to the people at the store where you are trying to get your new device. They are not malicious, they are just incompetent. It's not their fault. I blame the American education system.

    - If you live in Korea, don't wait.

    - if you live in North Korea, if you make it to America, you can stay with me for a while.

I believe that if we all just keep things in perspective, maybe we can have a forum that is not only devoid of Pokemon, but also without a bunch of people crying about an annoying issue that is fairly easily solved, or making Jerry have a proxy debate with some ***** on YouTube with tattoos on his hands telling people how to make life decisions. Don't take advice from people with tattoos on their hands.

    Thank you

People today are terrified of every little thing. They need to learn to live life without being fearful.
