Why am I the only one receiving this one? Like they have no faith I'm gonna keep the Note 7.

“FREE VZW MSG: On September 2, 2016, Samsung announced a voluntary recall of the Galaxy Note7 in response to an issue with the device's battery. Because customer safety is our top priority, Verizon has stopped selling the Galaxy Note7. Additionally, through September 30, 2016, Verizon is waiving the restocking fee. If you wish to return or exchange the device, please visit the store you purchased it from. When you return your Samsung Galaxy Note 7 and buy another smartphone you will get up to $25 off any accessory. Learn more at https://news.samsung.com/global/stat...laxy-note7.“

Even though exchange phones have not yet been received by the carries, the recall has been officially announced by Samsung and I have not received one email from Verizon addressing the situation. Has anyone heard from a carrier yet?
    Just got formally text.

It's definitely NOT mandatory. However, you are foolish if you don't participate.

Yes they say if because it's up to the consumer. They can't force you to change.

I look at it like this.... If the manufacturer who made my phone even suggests it.. There is probably a good reason so I'm going to.

Voluntary recall speaks to the company doing the recall. They made the choice to do it, the government didn't require them.

All individual participation in any recall, Voluntary or government required, is always voluntary on the consumer's part. No one can make you turn over your merchandise.

Yes. It's not quite the definitive statement most were hoping for.

The term "voluntary recall" is in reference to the fact that Samsung has taken this course of action without being forced to do so by any government agency.

The fact still remains that you should take it seriously and swap the device out for a new Note 7 or another model.

And how nice of the Red Devil to "waive the restocking fee". As if you have a choice. Lol

Right, it's not being "restocked" in the first case. It's being returned to Samsung.

I hear what you are saying but Verizon has said the choice to exchange the phone is 100 percent customer choice. Can't blame confusion due to mixed messages.

Don't care about them wanting the restocking fee. I shouldn't have to pay it.
I got something that they have recalled to bring back.
What kind of BS is it for them to try to make money off of it.

What I am waiting on is for new Note 7 in the color I want to come in at the Carriers.

I ain't taking just any color that they have.
And screw the 25.00 credit to buy something else that I didn't want.

Recalls are always the consumers choice. No one can make you take your car to the dealer to have a recall performed.

I think it's way to early for us to know all the options. Samsung is going to replace every Note 7 that's affected by this issue if it is presented the opportunity to do so. The carrier (Verizon in this case) seems to still be confused on what the process will be. I stopped by my local corporate store this morning to see "my guy" . He wasn't in unfortunately, the young man that greeted me was very polite, but not very knowledgeable on this issue. I suspect this is the case with all Verizon employees at this point. I'm in no hurry, I'll just wait a few days and let the dust settle. I'm sure at the end of this issue will be my new, unaffected Note 7.
