Samsung Thailand wrote out early September promising some freebies for the inconvenience but my local supplier has refused to honour it. So i told them where to put their explosive phone.

I dont think the guys jeep burnt to the ground, or the guys garage burnt up, or the guys motel room got damaged on the first, second or 20th charge. I bet they used the big scary charger a few times before the damage occurred.

I am still using mine and am not scarred. I am charging in a safe environment. Just wish I had a comparible choice to replace this note 7 with considering the Note 7 was the only reason I upgraded early to begin with. I would keep it but it's looking like the replacement may take some time now. I just want to set up a phone to my likings and be done with it now!

Believe half of what you see on TV or the internet. These forums are filled with folks who have or imagine they may have issues. The overwhelming amount of Note 7`s will have zero issues. Less than 1%. It's like the latest crisis on TV. Concrete crisis. Zika crisis. Cable crisis. Etc......

The key words are "purchasing" and "selling". Those of us currently with Note 7s will be "exchanging" for them. There will be no purchasing or selling of the new Notes during that promotional period (at least in the USA).

Not if we return for a refund, and re-order when they come up for sale again....

I may go this route.

Or I may check out the v20...

Either way, ima give it a few more days to decide.

It doesn't matter if it has issues or not. They want you to stop using the phones, because it could have an issue. Why play with fire?
If you want to get a N7 then keep the phone just stop using your current one until you get a replacement. I mean no one is going to die if they can't use their daily driver for a few weeks. Go pick up a burner if you must have a phone or go to your provider and explain your situation and see what they can do for you. But it's not very wise to keep doing something just, because you are not having issues at the moment...IMOP

I emailed Samsung and got a response that basically said thanks for your support, sorry to disappoint you and you're only getting the $25 credit. Have a nice day. I'll post the actual response in a few.

Thank you for taking the time to contact us at Samsung Technical Support. We always appreciate hearing from our customers.

After reviewing your e-mail, I see that you are very disappointed with the Samsung exchange promotion for the Note 7 phone. I will assist you with required information.

We are glad to know about your long time association with brand Samsung and your continued interest in Samsung products. Thank you for being a loyal customer of Samsung. I appreciate for your interest towards Samsung products. We are happy to hear that you are pleased with our products. Samsung remains committed to our goal of remaining #1 in Customer Satisfaction!

You being upset is totally understandable, Samsung is taking a proactive approach to address customer needs around the Note7. Your safety is our number one priority.

There have been a small number of reported issues with the Note7 battery which represent a tiny fraction of the high volume of phones that we have sold. Samsung announced the immediate availability of the U.S. Product Exchange Program for Galaxy Note7 owners. This program was launched in response to the recent announcement regarding isolated battery cell issues with the Galaxy Note7 phone. Samsung will voluntarily replace their current Galaxy Note 7 with a new one from today.

I hate times like this when I'm unable to help our esteemed customers. Currently we only have $25 gift card for the customers. If I had the information, I’d surely helped you. Hope you understand our limitations.

Should you desire additional assistance, we invite you to access the web-link https://forums.androidcentral.com/e...g.com%2Fus%2Fsupport%2Fcontact&token=2aMwhOQC to speak to a Chat Specialist. Our technicians are more than happy to assist you further. Chat Support is available 24X7.

come on! A little humor to lighten the mood. :p

Go pick up a burner if you must have a phone or go to your provider and explain your situation and see what they can do for you.

I have not had one issue with my phone. You may have to pry it from my cold, dead, fingers. I have taken some precautions; I only charge the phone while I can monitor it, I do not charge the phone overnight, I only use the provided charger no 3rd party chargers, and I have been watching to see if it gets hot. According to the app it never gets over 95 degrees when charging. I sure hope I can get a replacement rather than having to go to another phone.

Not gonna happen now that CPSC is involved. My guess is it will be months and the death of N7. See how long it took them to deal with the Hoverboard issue.

Guys read the article about the hoverboard? They couldn't figure out what was causing the fire or what was starting it. Samsung obviously knows what caused it and can easy share that information with cpsc.

No. They cannot. Airlines can though. However the N7 is not really safe. There are more burning up than makes the news. My friends caught fire when he dropped it on the coffee table (2 inches).

Hold on!!
Could you elaborate on this further?
He dropped it and it burst into flames? Pics or something please.
If this is true...

Please respond. Thanks.
