Help with making and sending GIF

I have been trying for 2 days to make and then send a GIF I got the making of it down but when i try to send it thru messenger it just turns into a reg pic and help would be appreciated. I love the thought of making my own funny ones and sending them to friends rather than having to pick from other people's

Not all text or messenger services allow GIFs. Whatsapp just added it in the latest beta. Signal supports it. I haven't tested it with hangouts or Allo.
I've had very limited success with Google messenger via MMS.

I tried limiting my GIFs to less than 5 seconds and even compressing them down and no luck sending them via Textra or Samsung Messenger oh well ?!

I was very excited about that feature but now a bit it disappointed why have the feature you cant really use

Well it's not Samsung's fault that text and messaging services aren't allowing GIFs to be sent. However, as I mentioned, there are apps that allow them and gradually more are coming on board.
