Like the title says might sound crazy but think about after the 1st recall of the N7 the reports stopped then started almost instantly after sales started again now after the 2nd and final recall not a peep and I don't think it's because everyone has returned them I still have mine and I have seen quite a few in the wild I will be returning mine for the V20. I'm just curious what do u think and do u still have your N7 and r u keeping it like I said might sound crazy.

Nope, doesn't sound crazy.

My 2 cents. Samsung is a big boy. Even though, for me they make the most incredible devices, this is their fault, like it or not. They will recover, and they will be fine. Its not a conspiracy, the F'd up with a device that could have set the tone for not just the Note series, but all future phones. The thing I find with Android is people complain about the smallest things, but with that fruit company, their issues are protected by all means. I work in retail, and when I have a customer mention the Note 7, I have them do a google search on exploding phones. Their mouths fall open because their beloved fruit phone is among those listed. Do you think they go tell their friends? Probably not. Its like someone that purchases a 120 thousand dollar car, that keeps cuting off, dashboard lights flicker. You think their gonna talk bad about that car. Probably not. Thats how the Fruit community as well as the media is, protect the baby by all means necessary. So Samsung cannot make thesed kinds of mistakes, they just cant.

As crazy as it sounds, Ive saw better pics of the Note 7 in these reports of explosions then I did when it was released. Check for yourself, anything from the fruit company, the way they post the pics would make anyone want to buy it. Now look at Android devices, they way they are pictured. Most time the sexinest is not there. I find this with what they call the best sites for tech.

Samsung has, and always be the underdog, and thats fine with me. As long as they continue to push the envelope im good. If they ever become like the fruit company, its time to move on.

My 2 cents
How can they be an underdog when they are the biggest smartphone manufacture in the world. And remember they manufacture their own phones unlike Apple.

This was the statement they initially released with the first recall. We now know that they were just throwing something out there. They have since admitted that they can't find the problem and that the government of South Korea has gotten involved in trying to find the problem. Why would the government get involved if they didn't suspect some funny business?

Exactly, if this was actually a reality, then here's the deal. Phones explode/catch fire, consider these then damaged devices evidence. They get sent in to be examined by expert analysts in the field. This alone would explain what was the problem with these supposed faulty products IF this was actually the case.
The fact that the supposed owners of these supposed exploded Note 7's refused to turn their devices in speaks volumes!

Well since you seem to not even be taking a direct quote as evidence I will bow out of the conversation now. I prefer to discuss facts and not just say stuff is "made up" or whatever with no real evidence. If the phone manufacturer says they had an issue, knew about it, and it caused this then I will trust that over a random theory.

The question is; does Google stand to loose big if Samsung were to make a move to Tizen? The is absolutely they would. Now if anyone would know how to hack Samsung's phones it would be Google. Google's strategy will no longer work unless it is the top producer of Android devices. The Chinese are making some incredible smartphones now and they are for the most part using forked version of Android. You have to admit Google is at big time risk here. The Note 7 was just too good for Google to handle. Apple does not have to worry about Samsung just yet because their customers are so loyal and the American media is 100% helping them with that. Please let's debate what Google stands to lose.

How can you say that was the problem when you had problems with the replacement devices. That's a fact!

Yes they are, but the fruit company makes more per phone. I dont mean to make it a competiton between the two, even though for many it is. All im saying is I moved from HTC to Samsung when I first saw the Note 2. Been a fan every since. Not because it Samsung, but because of the things they are doing. I read from numerous sites daily, and no matter what Samsung does, its just not good enough compared to the fruit company, and for me, there is no comparison. The note 7 was the first phone where I saw even the hardest critics give praise. What it comes down to is perception, and right now the perception is Samsung phones blow up, not just the note, Samsung phones. The Fruit company has a phone blow up, and the customer takes it in for a new phone and a free watch.

The average consumer doesnt care who manufactures the phone. Its the name on the phone. And its sad to say, but Samsung is FIRE, and not in a good way.

I don't think Google has anything to worry about if Samsung goes completely Tizen and doubt they would go completely Tizen.

Yes, they stole the idea of going full slab OS over their initial BB type design after Jobs showed Schmidt his iphone design while he was on Apples Board... but the idea they could be part of an effort to sabotage phones even by hacking and put people in harm... no basis.

Samsung will be manufacturing the screens for the next iPhone which is said to be a curved display. Like I said in my original post Samsung most now go ahead and make the move that Google is afraid they will make. They have no choice now. If they do not the sabatoge will continue. Yes their is a risk. They just have to figure out how to allow Android apps to run on Tizen until they improve their app store.

But they have said they don't know what the issue is with the replacements, which caused the phone to be axed. These are the ones that seem to sporadically explode on planes, unlike the first batch that exploded just after charging. You seem to be completely ignoring those facts.

Actually the first batch wasn't only charging -- that is what everyone assumed at first. Reports from ones that weren't charging blew up as well. As I said I am done with the conversation -- you guys can hash it out :).

I didn't say they would go completely Tizen. I said if they moved their flagships which they have publicly talked about doing. I think the president is with their line of smartwatches. They original moved their flagship smartwatch to Tizen and still had a Android Wear version. The people went for the better watch which was on Tizen and then they dumped Android Wear. Do you think they are not seriously considering the move.

I never said just when charging, but just after charging. I don't recall any reports of those exploding that weren't related to charging. Unlike the replacements which were far more sporadic, and also didn't have a hot patch to limit the charge, and Samsung has also said they don't know what caused the replacements to explode, nor the CPSC or the S. Korean government.

If it was the same issue then why on earth haven't they said so and instead are in the midst of a thorough investigation? So either you were wrong to dispute the first person who told you Samsung's first response was wrong, or you were wrong to dispute my post highlighting that the replacements are different.
But feel free to ignore the facts. :)

Not sure if Tizen is the answer, at least for smartphones. In the US, the fruit company is king. The media sees to that, most of your major tech sites see to that. From what I see, its bigger than Samsung vs the fruit company. Its about keeping the King, the King, by any mean necessary. And as long as the fruit lovers stay loyal, they will remain the King, in the US anyway. And im fine with that, thats the American way, right lol.

For me, its nothing else out there that compares to what Samsung does, and I follow HTC, LG, Motorola, even the fruit company.
