The Kindle App for Android (Note 8) will not recognize the new AZW3 file extension only AZW. There are suggestions to rename the file extension from AZW3 to ASW but Windows won't do it as the AZW3 keeps coming back.

Any ideas appreciated. I also can't find where the Kindle files are stored on the Note 8. It shows I have two books on my device but I can't find them. I guess I will have to convert them to Epub and then Moon Reader is easy to move the files from my computer to my Note 8. A lot to learn about this baby!

You could boot off an Ubuntu usb stick or live cd and rename them through terminal.

I managed to rename form AZW3 to AZW and Kindle App still will not recognize them. I like Moon Reader better, so I will just convert any AZW3 files to EPUB and read them in Moon Reader.

Convert to MOBI using Calibre that should be compatible.
