MicroUSB card reader problem.

I purchased a Trust Mini Card Reader (15298) to view photo's from my camera on my Galaxy 8. It wasn't expensive but I'm disappointed that it won't work and I'd like to understand why. The card reader works fine on my Windows computers (desktop and laptop) but isn't even 'seen' by the Note 8. However, another Sitecom card reader that I tried with the Note 8 works just fine. It's obviously a device compatibility issue and clearly not all card readers are alike. Can anyone enlighten me as to what the problem might be as I want to make sure the next reader I buy will work properly. Thanks in advance.

Do you use a USB OTG cable for to connect the readers?

If not, then this Sitecom reader might have build-in USB OTG ability.

Yes, I use a microUSB-to-USB cable with OTG capability that's why I thought any USB card reader would do.
