So does this mean almost all old phones will have to be traded in? Not going to happen.

New phones might not even have this, according to the article.

I doubt T-Mobile will want to lose all those customers who well be mad.

I'm getting the Note 8. In T-Mobile.

I'm not saying you won't have coverage. But if the new 600MHz is important to you for where you live then it's something to consider buying a high end phone like this. FYI - I'm on TMO and not trying to hate, just want people to realize that it won't be able to support it

I get T-Mobile service easily at a lot of places. The hospital by mountains was hard. My dad's old S3 didn't, my Note 5 did most of the time. So I'm good.

If you think about it, most have managed without this "New" band. I think I could survive a little longer.

Yeah, I was pretty confused by this. T-Mobile said that at least one Samsung phone coming out this year would support the 600 MHz spectrum (someone correct me on that if I'm wrong). What Samsung phone is it going to be if not this one?

Regardless, I preordered this morning. I'm on JOD, so I'm not really losing out on the deal, except maybe for the extra $9/month I'll be paying compared to the S8+.

T-Mobile just literally started launching its 600 MHz service, what, last week in WY. It won't be widespread for awhile yet. 2019 is what I heard.

It will support it. A T-Mobile rep said the S8 and note 8 series will get a firmware update for official support of that band. Also, if you do your research you will find out that the snapdragon 835 has the snapdragon X16 LTE modem which supports the 600 mhz band.

I read the x20 will be the one to support it....
