Visit to Cirrus Logic in Edinburgh this afternoon.( Responsible for designing and manufacturing the audio boards / codecs on most iPhones amongst many other things )

They have a new site in Edinburgh. It holds a place in my heart as it's built on the site of the old Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh, where I had my first transplant.

These old buildings are all remain.

Bosshog, your pictures are always a treat for sore eyes, keep up the great work!

Your recent pics look a touch high on the "HDR effect" - are you adding an HDR filter in post, or doing something to the settings while shooting? I am curious because the stock camera app in the Note 8 is generally mild on HDR.

P.S: I have been busy posting pics on the LG V30 thread so haven't contributed much here recently. I vill be baak! :)

XL or regular?

And how come if you don't mind me asking?

I had the XL 2. Main camera and google's now legendary post processing is as advertised. But rest of phone is garbage.

I have the LG V30 and Note 8 - both offer great overall well-rounded lifestyle features in addition to a great camera lens. The Pixel is a one trick pony and I am not paying $1000 for a one trick wonder. I had the original Pixel and kept it for a while, because at the time, none of the competitors came close to the camera quality. But now, you have the Note 8 and V30 that both come very close and are much better phones.

Gotcha.

I felt similar that it wasn't a clear cut above the rest so I didn't buy.

I just like seeing how others feel about it after real world usage.

It's what I use on the regular besides the magic Google photos does.

Sapseed is great! I use it for HDR and to convert photos to B&W.

I use google photos for the "deep blue" enhancement - any time your photo has sky in it, tweak that filter and it makes the sky pop.

I use photoshop CC to de-noise ultra low light photos. Their luminescence noise filter is great.

I mostly use Lightroom for all the 'real' post processing of raw files. Boosting shadows, clarity, dehaze, white balance, etc.

Unbelievable the options we all have these days right on the phone!

I have CC and lightroom but haven't ever used it.

I think I should try if it helps my lowlight pics.

Thanks for the info!
