First Bees of 2019
Hopefully the false spring has not tricked too many to death but they gatherered. Plenty of honey bees (I don't know the exact species I'm afraid), and finally got a bumble still enough for a photo despite the wind in Scotland.

Losing these little guys by the millions up here in the Northeast US... pesticides, fungus, mites! I have a friend who has lost like four of his 7 hives in the last two years. If we don't do something about it, cross pollination is going down the tubes and then we'll really be in trouble! It'll start affecting crops!
