mine use 1% per hour with AOD/WiFi/mobile date always on, once setup well these devices are not as power hungry as some people try and make them out to be
Prior to Oreo, I would easily lose 15% in stand by.

Had my Note 8 since launch but I just discovered the "Dual audio" option in Bluetooth settings. Very handy!

Another thing I have noticed on the 8v4. Sound from the timer is now back on the media channel rather than the alarm channel which is really annoying.

If I have by bluetooth headset enabled but not in my ears (normal for round the house when I actually use it) then I often don't hear it. I don't have "that annoying person on the bus" headphones.
It also gets cancelled by quiet times. Even says it could not play the tone due to quiet times when tested on a 1s timer.

It's a timer you have specifically set. I want to hear it. Come on!

Timer should count as an alarm, play on the alarm channel and not be cancelled by quiet time as you have specifically set it to remind you.

I think you can pair up two different devices at the same time playing different audio, like using music player at the same time as gps with voice directions

Pretty certain it plays the same audio through both. For headphone sharing etc.

On a similar note. I discovered that I am not a fan of volume linking. I'll set the volume on my phone as a fixed value and alter the headset's volume as required.

I found out if you turn the screen brightness down that only you can see it and put it on HD+ you increase battery life I a major way I'm getting 12 to 14 hours

Seems pretty drastic. I would think that you should get a lot more than that by turning the brightness down to unreadable.

I consistently get 16-17 hours of battery life with WQHD+ enabled and brightness set to Auto.

Yes. I would suggest that you jump to one of the battery life threads.

I really don't think that HD+ vs WQHD+ has much effect on battery life.
Screen brightness certainly will have an impact.

I think the "hit" on battery life caused by running in the higher screen resolutions would depend on how often the screen needs to be redrawn. Showing video or running a game, for example, might require the processors to work a lot harder rendering the increased resolution images than they might have to work rendering lower resolution versions of the same images.

So for normal web surfing, texting, or even viewing still images, we might not see much increase in battery usage when running in the highest resolution versus lower resolutions.

Of course brightness will always affect battery use, regardless of the resolution setting.

I recently found out you can lock specific apps from closing when you select "close all" in the recent apps view.

All you have to do is tap the 3 dots in the top right when viewing recent apps>lock apps>tap lock icon in app>done.

Very handy for me, I like keeping my calculator app open while at work and I keep it minimized on my home screen so this saves me reopening the app every time I close all my apps.

This doesn't work well. I've tried it but both speakers don't play in sync with each other. There's a bit of a delay on one of them. Unless the other speaker is in another room then it would be ok.

We sometimes do pair 2 or 3 times but they will play i sync! We have 2 outdoor gazebos with speakers and use it frequently for parties

Pity it doesn't work in the EU as it is law. Like not being able to turn off the camera sound in countries with lots of pervs.
I found apps to turn off the prior but they were possibly root.
Have't looked for the second but it seems the shutter sound doesn't sound on the 2x camera unless it is totally certain you have perfect focus.
