It's just an extra step to get into my phone I don't need.

    Power button.
    Swipe.

    Easy.

Unless I'm doing it wrong all I need is an LED to tell me I have messages.

What is the extra step? If you use fingerprint sensor, it will wake your phone up and unlock it in one step.

You can hard press the home button from the AOD screen and get the same result. As long as you turn it on...

AOD adds no extra steps. You're just doing it wrong. Does the Notification LED tell you the time and date as well as each notification too?

Yes, you can only see the notifications on the AOD screen not go into them without extra steps for security. I think you can remove them if you want.

I just unlocked my phone and saw ghosting of the time from the aod. Burn in and issue with this screen?

The time moves around the screen, so I don't think burn-in would be a problem.

If you use the phone in your typical way without it on, let us know the% difference by bed time.

AOD allows me discreetly check the time. Sometimes my boss will come in around 11:30. I leave at noon for lunch. When he's talking endlessly about nothing, I can just glance and see the time. Same goes for boring meetings. It's impolite to be looking at your watch mid convo, or checking your phone, or turning completely around to look at the clock. AOD makes it easy.

Also, when my phone is on silent, I can see when an email or text comes in. If I'm waiting on something in particular, I can quickly put in my pin to see if it's what I need. For me, AOD just works. It's worth a minor hit to my battery life. And I only have it on 9-4 for work.
