Start a new note in Samsung note. Write down a phone number, web address, email address, etc. Save it. You should now see the info outlined in blue if the phone recognizes it. Hover the Spen over it. It should give you option(s) with a little icon and just tap on it. I guess this is Samsung's baked in version of Action Memo.

I tried it thrice but no options while hovering s-pen. What options do you have?

Half baked, lol. But thanks for the info. Finally worked for me. Even though I'll probably stick with Action Memo, this might come in handy at some point.

I couldn't get it to work & stopped trying once I got Action Memo to work. However, I just noticed that Fr0gburp3r said to save it first (just save, you don't have to close it, just not be in edit mode), and then the dial, email & web functions will show when you hover the pen over each.

First save:

Then hover (phone dial example):

Mind sharing a link to the action memo apk?

Worked for me with email address. I really wanted the function of saving something to the calendar but so far that doesn't work. And if it can't read my writing, it doesn't work, but that is my problem not really the phone's.

I can't get it to work either, I'm thinking it's because I have an old version of snote that I side loaded so I could have action memo.

I just edited an action memo (transferred from my Note 4) by adding a url to it exactly as I did to the new notes that didn't get a hot link or options; and of course the url immediately became a hot link that worked. I really miss the action memos!

I only got it to work once for a phone number. I can't pin it to my home page, so it doesn't matter. I'll stick with action memo

As far as I can tell the only way to send a text is by going through the phone app, menu and then "send message".
Thanks for posting this.

This works for me. You just have to make sure that you save the note first. Be careful not to actually touch the screen with the Spen, just hover and you will be able to dial, email, etc.
