Impossible if you take the phone outside. I never use a screen protector and I have tried everything not to get scratches. As soon as the phone goes into a pocket it's going to have scratches.
Nope. Not impossible. Outside of trying a few here and there, I have not used one on any of my Note devices. I have had one minor scratch that could only be seen if you really looked for it in all that time. I know how that scratch happened because I did something stupid with my phone. Other than that, I sold prior Notes(except Note 7) in mint condition to very satisfied new owners.

I did remove my tempered glass screen protector. It was awful. I went with a film from zagg. It's amazing. Just be careful about the 1st 24hours or so and after that it's on there for good.

Amazon has spigen film. 2 for $10
But doesn't it leave s. Pen marks.?

Funny that this post came up as I am looking at my whitedome glass screen protector contemplating if I should take it off due to it rising in certain areas. However, I know the moment I take it out it will be the moment it drops. Lol

I use my (unprotected) phones indoors and outdoors all the time (including taking lots of photos while hiking, for example), and I've never scratched a screen. So it's not impossible to avoid.

The only time I protect my phone is in a super-sandy environment like a beach. Then, I keep the phone sealed in a plastic bag to avoid scratches from the sand. If I were in that sort of environment often, I would probably get a screen protector.

I use both my notes without screen protectors, ok one lives in the house but my daily runner I keep in my front jeans pocket without keys or coins and not a scratch on it months later.
if you use screen protectors from day one you learn to live with their deficiencies but once you start using you phone without it's just impossible to go back

If you use a tempered glass screen protector you can't use the Gear VR, it won't seat properly in the connector, good going samsung. Someone needs to make a proper screen protector or Samsung needs to ditch their gimmicky but ultimately worthless "infinity screen" that no manufacturer can apparently make a proper protector for that will work with a case too, since the whole thing is glass. It's stupid to put ~$1000 worth of tech into a glass casing, my phone is a tool that's used a lot, not a museum piece.
I'm using a POETIC full enclosure case with plastic protector built in, not as strong as glass, but better than nothing and I can remove it to use my GearVR

I put a curved tempered glass screen protector on my Note 8 and it lasted about two weeks before lifting up on the edges and knocking the sensitivity to zero... So I pulled out off and haven't had one on there since, that was in September. Still no issues, scratches, dings, nothing... This is one tough screen.

Samsung doesn't design the phone with the thought of how easy it will or won't be for third party companies to make screen protectors for their phone. If you can't get used to it and absolutely must have a screen protector then move on and buy something with a flat screen.

I find all this "I paid $1,000 for this phone so it should __________" crying incredibly idiotic, especially concerning the design of the phone. Did you not hold it and/or look at it before you spent your $1,000??

I've never gotten the point of screen protectors. Unless you knowingly put the phone in the same pocket as change, keys, etc. or decide to throw your phone around.

Then again I almost never use a case either, so what do I know? I get using a case if it's going to be an active day, but they add bulk and ruin the phone's aesthetics.

Unless your day-to-day life really exposes your phone to a lot, I see screen protectors as a waste of money.

I ended up putting on a ghost liquid glass protector. Glad I got rid of the whitedome. Kept lifting. Either way, glad I got rid of my screen protector.

I'm considering returning my Zagg, the sensitivity is not as good as the Whitestone dome I had on it before. Only paid $27 for this Zagg and considering returning it for the Samsung flip case. I'm tired of the screen protector issue. I'll be happy when they stop making curved screens because of this issue, I like to keep my $1000 phone protected, but still like to use it with no issues.
