Apps missing from "app menu"

Hello all I just got my note 8 a few weeks ago and I love it! Everything has been good until now, I recently restarted my phone and notice that almost all my apps are missing from the "app menu" the only apps there where Facebook and messenger, I tried to restart and completely power off my phone to no avail and I also tried starting in safe mode but no success there either. Also the apps are still downloaded i can still find them in the play store. Anybody have any idea what's wrong?
