Guys, in the last 2 days I have not gotten a handful of text messages that people have sent me. I am using Android Messages as the default text app. Anyone else seeing this?

I read that people with S8 and S8+ phones are having problems with text messages on all the carriers. Maybe it's affecting Note 8 people too now. The article I read seems to think it's a Samsung problem.

Is the problem on all messaging app? I haven't had any on the stock one but I had a lot of problems using Textra (Verizon).

Did you happen to have an iPhone as your previous phone? If so, you need to de-register your phone # from iMessage.

No iPhone, not in a long while. There were several extra long messages I didn't receive. I'm thinking it might have something to do with Advanced Messaging, even though I am using Android Messages as my text app.

I'm having the same issues as well on my Verizon Note 8 using the Android Messenger app. Started maybe a week ago. Thought maybe it was my wife's old iPhone at first but now I've discovered I'm missing a bunch of messages. Extremely annoying.

I'm on AT&T and don't have any missing messages of any kind. Everything is there from what I transferred over to what I have accumulated now.

I noticed my Messenger app was in the sleep category in the battery settings.. I removed it from there (actually uninstalled and reinstalled it) Will see how it goes now.

It's the non-samsung messaging apps that are causing it. Something in Samsug's software breaks the ability to properly receive messages when not using Samsungs app.

That's not it. I use textra and I have no issues. I do have bixby disabled, makes a guy think. Samsung wants to force their messaging app on everything, just maybe that's the issue.

I have been having this issue. GS8+ on AT&T, but it's only with the Android messages app. When I switched to the Samsung app and uninstalled the Android app, I noticed unread tags on over 75 messages. I personally this the issue is on Android Messenger based on my troubleshooting.

No, that really is it. It also depends on carrier too. For whatever reason the built in messaging is the only one that works consistently with some carriers.

That may be, but to say the only one that works is stock is incorrect, because obviously not everyone is effected. I get the remote call screen pop up error like others and some don't, which Verizon says it's Verizon messages. For some it is, for me and others it's advanced calling, turn it off and the remote call screen goes away. So with all that said, I won't be one to say it's one thing, or the one thing is effecting everyone's phone differently.

And as I stated, the stock messaging app could be the issue since Samsung insists on making the stock messaging app required for things such as bixby and their gear watch line.

Either way, we might as well get comfortable because the Carriers and Samsung will point fingers at each other for awhile.

The only one that works consistently for EVERYONE is the stock app.

You sure, stock don't work for me right. We are just throwing words around now, we've both said or side, I just wanted to let people know that third party texting apps do work, not everyone has issues, no need to bail on them unless they are having issues, it's simple as that.
