Is it ok to using 70% rubbing alcohol sprayed on the microfiber (nickel size) and start cleaning the glass of your phone? Will it damage anything?

    Thanks

It might remove the oleophobic coating. Maybe. All I use is a dry micro fiber cloth.

    I use these: https://smile.amazon.com/Zeiss-Pre-M...rl+zeiss+wipes

But @chazglenn3 is right. Probably will remove the oleophobic coating over time. Meh. I don't keep a phone long enough to worry about that. I keep them about a year.

The wipes they sell are overprice, hence I use rubbing alcohol. The cleaning wipes usually consist of rubbing alcohol, just the mixture they diluted it so it can become lighter.

I am curious of how many actually uses rubbing alcohol.

Not sure about it removing the coating.

    Thanks for the reply.

Cleaning it dry, you are just wiping off the dust. Not really effectively cleaning it.

    Thanks for the reply.

A microfiber cloth is all you need, unless you've dropped your phone in mud or something I guess. What have you done to your phone?

Same same. I try and do this when no one is watching, so that they don't think that I'm perving on porn.

Just cleaned it, like I always do, no problems, keep it simple. Eyeglass, sunglass cleaner, sprayed on microfiber, clean Note 8 glass and Spigen case. Nothing to it. Not a big deal at all. 😊

I use screen cleaner wipes if the screen gets too smudged up. Once a month or so I use cotton balls and rubbing alcohol to kill bacteria.
I've read online somewhere that using Rain X works for both cleaning and keeping the screen fingerprint free. I tried it a couple of times in the past, and it did seem to work. I was always worried about using it though, so I stopped.

I bought into the hype around the oleophobic coating and bought some Whoosh. Does it do miracles? Jury's still out. I haven't used it all yet, so I'm still using it.

The absolutely best way to clean any glass or plastic (including camera lenses, eye glasses, and phone screens) that I've found is ROR. https://www.amazon.com/Optical-Lens-...cUvbUpU6021821 I've been using ROR for about 25 years, and there's nothing better IMO.

And always use a clean microfiber cloth - and never clean microfiber cloths in anything other than plain water.

I use a drop..no kidding of baby shampoo in a cup of water. Shake well, spray on damp cloth, wipe entire phone, dry with microfiber cloth.
