During the phone call switching back to the homepage it almost froze. Had to end the call and restart the phone and everything went back to normal.

It's only been 1 month.

You guys have any problems yet?

Nope. Been bout 2 months for me and been smooth as butter:)

I had the silly cat game become unresponsive for 30 seconds couple of times and once deleting pics from the camera it froze but I had selected god knows how many to delete in one go.
I have it as a habit since my Note 2 to just reboot every couple of days for what it's worth and also clearing cache and have never really suffered lag problems, the N8 is just flying

I've had some moments with my screen was unresponsive but that's about it nothing really major. im starting to just you start phone every morning before I leave out for work

Every single phone will have its moments. Doesn't matter if it's the Note 8, V30 or an iPhone. They all lag, freeze or have a hiccup every now and again.

I have had none of that with my Note 8 yet but I'm sure I will. I have had quite a few moments of lag, hiccups and freezing on my iPhone 8 Plus. That's unusual in my experience with iPhones but it happens. It can happen to any device.

I've had similar transient experiences over time with every phone I've owned - every laptop I've owned. Probably can say the same for every device that needs to process instructions and data from my OG Pixel, to my Roku to my photo scanner to my mp3 player (yes, I still use one in the gym :)).

I'd submit that any leading flagship phone these days can be maintained to provide great performance without repeatable, frequently-occurring lag.

I'm having a gallery lag where it will stutter opening and closing pics. Anyone have a solution to this?

Nope, totally fine and smooth here, always. AND that's with being on the middle power save mode since day 1, which should cause more freeze ups because of the throttling of the CPU, but it's been perfect.

I have no lag except when scrolling the nougat cat game, and that's only because I have too darn many. I just don't scroll them and there's no other lag anywhere.

Finally someone gets it. If it's a computer you can expect freezes and hiccups here and there. We have to reboot home computers all the time to get rid of hiccups, the blue screen of death, phones are no different. For phones, the note 8 and s8 series are far improved in how smooth it runs.

Not to mention that majority of the time the slow downs and freezes are app related.

every word true. nothing but a hand-sized computer. freezes, reboots, etc. all expected at some point and all usually app related.

$1000 phone or doesn't even have to be that much but a reputable flagship phone... I don't expect to need to shut down or restart with any frequency. Maybe jaded running iOS last 1-2 years but besides closing background apps as my only regular routine, restarting a phone or ipad is not a normal thing.

On the Note, I have yet to run the Device Maintenance utility on the phone yet and will say the phone has been running great for me as I expect.

As far as PCs, I work in IT and I tell users to reboot (cause it's usually user induced and easier to have them restart lol) when they have issues, but personally on work or home computers, I'll leave them on 24/7 and can leave them on maybe weeks before needing to reboot.

Like you said the majority are app/program related so closing programs on PCs or apps on devices is the most you need to do. If you need to reboot hardware... you have a serious stability issue with the hardware or software.

Knock on wood I haven't even had to think of a reboot on my Note since I've gotten it for keeping it smooth... I would find it unacceptable if that ends up the case if I did it on a daily or weekly basis like some have mentioned here.

No lag issues, going on 2 months. I have however had a couple of instances where it seem like it wouldn't fast wired charge and I had to unplug it a couple times and plug it back in before it did it.

This is the Google contacts app not the Samsung one fwiw

Thank you... I was totally puzzled reading that thinking "What... I do that crap every day and have never had an issue!" I use the Samsung Contacts so that answers my question... phew!

The reason I passed.... iv'e owned a few Notes and a pair of 7s.... beautiful phones untill a few months. they start Lagging. this is no secrete !!!
