What are your top apps to uninstall (or disable) as not useful and to improve battery, memory, performance, etc? And why??

I disable all Google apps and location services. Not in the least interested in having anything to do with Google.

I keep the play store but download a lot of the apps from apkmirror.

I can't do this. Disabling Google on an Android phone is a crime hehehehe.
Otherwise, I would rather use an iPhone if I remove Google

I use BK Disabler to disable ALL carrier bloat and most Samsung bloat. I also disable or uninstall some Google apps I don't use. I also disable ANT radio, Knox, Bixby and any other apps I don't use.

I bought samsung cos I want their baked in stuff, and i haven't been disappointed.

Can understand those with differing points of view, but if i was one of the other posters in this thread i'd no doubt be saying, then why buy a samsung. Instead, i say i can appreciate your viewpoint :)

as little as i can get away with.

Surely that wouldn't be news to you that for people who have to use android, they don't have to like, want or use much of google .....
Sorry long time iPhone user and switched for Gmail and Google maps so not in the know on Android stuff so it was a bit of a surprise to heard. I'm game for any new things to try so what do you use if you turn off all the Google services? GPS works without location services running? What email client and service do you use?

Disable as many as you can. Download as few as you can.
Your experience shouldn't suck, but think if an app is really necessary.
More apps is less performance.
I've eliminated battery hog apps, such as social media and Amazon. Instead, I run them on separate browser tabs in the chrome browser. Still easily accessible.

No worries, we each do stuff to suit our tastes. Here's what i disable:
Chrome
Facebook
Facebook app installer
Facebook services
Finance
Gmail
Google
Google music
Google photos
Google text to speech
Google vr services
Hangouts
Linked in
Maps
You tube ( i use OGyoutube)

I've probably missed some.

I use blackberry hub for email, lotsa samsung apps, and i have location off, and don't give permission for it to be used at all.
