Last night I plug into factory charger for the night at 14% and wake up 7 hours later and it’s at 22% with message saying “slow charging.”

Unplugged cable a couple of times and finally looked to be charging normally.

Anyone experienced this message come up? Annoying to wake up to start day to see 1% per hour and needing to charge.

I would definitely be frustrated as well. I haven't had that happen on my note8's but I did have that happen on my note 5 a couple of times. I never figured out why it did that tho. I just did the same as you, unplugged and plugged cord back it and would go back to fast charging. Out of 2 years of owning the note5(which is shut off in a drawer as a back up now lol) it only happened a couple times. But then again I use wireless charging about 97-98% of the time. Hope you find what is causing it.

Yeah, it's always a bit annoying to have your perfect phone acting imperfectly the first time lol. I'll keep an eye on it and hope it's a one-off but just wondering if anyone else maybe getting it.

Next time I'll put it straight to my wireless pad or try my charger from my S6 or my aukey charger/cable to see if hardware or maybe software.

I read S8 posts where people said disabling and re-enabling fast charge helped so their is some indication that software can possibly gitch it.

Otherwise been perfect all day after I finally got it to charge.

Happy Thanksgiving all.

Had this happen to me, turned out to be the charger head and cable.

Yeah that might help by turning fast charge off then back on or restarting phone. Glad it good once it was charged. Fingers crossed that it doesn't happen again. And happy thanksgiving to you as well:)

check the outlet. I had the same thing. unplugged it, replugged it back in, rebooted over ten times. all with the same outlet. Got a little scared. Finally moved it to a new outlet and all is fine. It seems I have an underpowered outlet.

Got the message again this morning of slow charging and make sure using correct hardware blah blah... this is on a different Samsung charger from an S6 and an Aukey braided cable on a different outlet but that set up has been working for weeks.

And it happened after experiencing issue posted on another thread where my phone just completely froze/bricked on AOD when using the factory charger. Funny the time it froze about 20 minutes after I plugged it in and showing how far it charged before it froze. Not happy I had to force shutdown to get it to reboot.

As mentioned in my other post only major change is the AT&T update the week before and normal app updates when available.

Interesting. I've seen this happe as well, on my HTC 10 and now my Note 8. Only constant is I also use the Aukey braided charge cable. First with the HTC fast charger and now with the Samsung.
